Ok one rule ... if you post bullsh!t or start trouble in this thread i will abandon this thread, get it locked and never try to help this show again. Promise! Keep the drama in pm's or elsewhere!
I'm asking my local guys and girls for some help.
We need sponsors for this show if we want it to be successful as this is the 10th anniversary.
Does anybody have an "in" with any local Speed Shops, Parts Houses, Small Local Businesses (or even big buisnesses that would like to throw out a helping hand for you if you know any), etc that would like to be a sponsor for this show? They would get their name advertised on our flyers, website, shirts and at the show. All we need is a small money amount donation or if its a car related business, a few things to put into the raffle that we have every year.
Or hell, if you can toss in an extra $5 to the show you can say that you were a part of helping the show be a success!!
I just need some help getting this moving and start showing some progress sooner. I'm trying to push these old guys along but I need some help from the J community. I, as much as you, would like to see some finalization by the end of the year.
So show me what you got.

You know you have Streetline's help. ... I have a idea maybe we can get a local strip club to come out and sponsor the with some chicks and we can plug there local and all head over there after the show? just thoughting that out there.

Jhand is correct. I had thought about having one of the local car parts stores come. They could set-up a tent with car cleaning stuff (everyone needs that stuff). They could sell stuff during the show and maybe they could give us some stuff for the raffle.

I mentioned something to this effect last year or the one before that...
You're going to have a hard time finding people handing out money without getting something in return. I'd highly advise you guys not to
ask for a company to sponsor the show, but
sell them on the idea. Have someone set up a promotion/marketing package to hand to any prospective sponsor. Present them with all of the info on the show and how it will benefit their business sponsor the show.
Just a few things off the top of my head I'd include:
- When and where it's going to be held.
- Anticipated number people going to the show.
- Anticipated number of people who will be passing through Old Town that day (and will see their advertisement).
- EXACTLY what they will get by sponsoring the show.
- How their contribution will benefit them (ESTAS MUY IMPORTANTE!!!).
- What you would like from them.
- Who they should contact to work out any of the details.
Be as specific as possible with everything. Don't leave it at "We'll take anything you can give us". That's too open ended and seems like your begging.
Lets face it, the only people with any attachment to this show are on this board. No one else give a damn. You have to make it worth their wild to help out.
