Does any one know of a shop that knows how to work and has experience with 'twin cam' engines?
I need cams replaced, heli-coils installed in the head and GM supercharger put in.
Last time I took it to a 'knowledgeable' mechanic to have heli-coils installed because of a bad oil leak in that area. Only an hour later for him to come out and inform me that the cam covers would not come off and if i had any ideas. I went back to the work area to observe him rocking the cam cover with 2 bolts as leverage without removing the timing chain assembly first.....yeah.....
Why do you need heli-coils? Where do you need them? In south FL I do not know anyone. I know some guys in North Fl. They know just a little about the 2.4.

Another shop used an impact wrench to secure the cam cover bolts when they attempted to stop the oil leak in that area and stripped the threads in the head.... when I pulled the bolt out it had aluminum shavings all around the threads.
Got in touch with Phil today, told him I was looking for a mechanic that has experience working on Twin Cam engines> his reply was ' you are still looking ' ..... I guess he did not want to get involved with that again, but after I explained to him that he was recommended by you guys, he agreed to work on my car, so thanx for the info and I will keep you posted on the progress if you wish
