HI EVERYONE IM LOOKING TO MAKE AN TRANNY SWAP FOR MY CAVALIER AND I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE I CAN GET ALL THE PARTS:
LIKE,
MASTER CYLINDER
SLAVE CYLINDER
TRANSMISSION
CENTER CONSOLE
PEDALS
CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR
MANUAL PCM
TRANSMISSION MOUNTS
I WANT TO DO ALL THIS BEFORE I DO ALL MOTOR I HAVE ALL THE PARTS.
THE AUTO TRANSMISSION MIGHT NOT HOLD THE POWER.
I BOUGHT AN ENGINE KIT AND A TURBO KIT SO I WANT TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION NOW BEFORE I DO ANY OF THIS.
Salvage yard or keep checking classifieds. I think there's something for sale over on ecotecforum.com.
The easiest/best thing to do is find a complete donor car in a yard, that way you can get everything you need in one shot and if you thing you might need something but are not sure you can just grab it to make sure.
My 2,
Chris
I did this swap a few month's ago on my car. Your gonna need the mount from turbotech racing and the other one you will have to order it from gmparts direct if i remeber correctly it was 17.69 on the gmpartdirect site. You dont really need the center console you can can just get a stock boot and modify it, and it looks stock. You will also need the shifter assembly and cables i bought the assembly new since its plastic it was 60 bucks. The trannsmission ,shift cables, clutch pedal (you dont need all the pedals unless having the bigger brake one bother's you) Get from the yard. I also picked up a clutch (comes with slave cylinder)and flywheel from turbotechracing.com. You will need the flywheel bolts from gm there like 25 bucks for a set.You can also pick up the clutch master cylinder new from gmpartsdirect for 67 bucks, i bought it new since i didnt want to use a used one that might be on its way out already. You dont need the pcm just get a reflash if you have access to a tech 2. The hardest part will be welding in the new mounts and cutting out the automatic one.
thanks everyone for your help
