Forum Rules
Use the SEARCH button before you post. Chances are if you are going to post about an article in the latest magazine, or any number of other things, someone has already posted about it.
Use the PREVIEW button. If you want to test out your new sig, PREVIEW until you get it right. "Testing" posts will not be tolerated. Ever.
No flaming or foul language. Bypassing the forum's built-in language filters may lead to immediate banning. English is the preferred language (with the exception of those Spanish and French speaking regions). Posts that are unintelligible will be removed. Racism is not tolerated on this site.
Members should hold a high moral standard when posting. Any content that is immature, gross, pornographic or explicit in nature is not allowed.
Respect other members. Everyone has their own tastes, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how wrong it is. Some people will have negative opinions towards topics, pictures and the like. They are entitled to those opinions. Likewise, if you don't think highly of something, be considerate when expressing such opinions.
Fighting over the internet is lame. Don't do it.
Before trying to post images or links, read the Forum Code page. Use the PREVIEW button until you master the art of posting links and images.
Read an entire post before responding to it. Whatever you are going to say may have already been said.
Unapproved advertising in the forums is prohibited. For advertising information please see our advertising information page. Approved advertisers may post only as outlined in their agreement.
Personal "For Sale" posts are NOT allowed. Private ads may be posted in the classifieds. Companies may contact us for advertising rates or visit our advertising information page.
Do not cross post. Unless it is an official site announcement, cross posting, or posting the same message in more then one forum is NOT welcome.
Post in the correct forum. Each forum has a topic, and you can see it at the top of each page. If a message doesn't fit that topic, it will get locked or deleted. The general forum is a bit relaxed, but it is not an 'anything goes' forum either.
If regional forums are available, posts of local concern (ie. "anyone from California?") belong in their respective regional forum. These posts may be moved, locked or deleted if found in any other forum!
The subject of a post is important to bring people to read that post, and to effectively summarize the topic. Thus, it is important that the subject line does not mislead, and makes sense. Subjects such as "Read This", "Click Here", etc. are not welcome. Likewise subjects that don't make sense or are misleading to the content of the post will not be tolerated.
No "Post Jacking" or "Post-Whoring". Post-jacking is replying to a thread with something that is completely off the topic of the thread. Post-whoring is the act of making a thread, post, or series of posts that convey a minimal or non-existent amount of information. Furthermore, comments like "In Before The Lock" "Fear The Lock" "Bump" "ttt" or any other wasted post may not be used. Such posts waste bandwidth, and have no purpose.
If you are new, do yourself a favor and hang around a while - read posts, and most importantly SEARCH before you begin to post. Being a newbie is inevitable. Being a stupid newbie can be avoided, though.
Account sharing is not permitted. Using another member's account may result in a ban for both members for an indefinite period of time.
Only ONE account is permitted for each member. This is a serious violation, and will result in ALL accounts being deleted.
The GME in no way condones activities such as street racing or operating a vehicle in any manner that can legally or rationally be considered 'reckless' in nature. Any post or thread discussing, promoting, or otherwise being of general relation to this topic is not allowed.
A moderator's decision is the final word. If you have a LEGITIMATE complaint about a moderator, please use the CONTACT US link on the main menu. Lame complaints will be ignored at best. Stupid complaints might put you on a list that you don't want to be on. DO NOT POST MESSAGES IN THE FORUM WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT MODERATOR DECISIONS!
Enforcement:
Moderators may, at their discretion, enforce the rules in one of three ways:
Locking the offending post. Locking a post means nobody can reply to it.
Deleting the offending post.
Banning the author of the post. Banning is a serious thing. Bans can be temporary or they can be permanent. The severity of the ban depends on the situation(s) that led up to the ban.
My husband was one of the members banned for doing a countdown post about the FL Show.......where does it say that countdown post are not permitted...??? Just wondering.....
~*~* Carol *~*~
I'm pretty sure it had to do with post whoring and starting unnecessary drama, not a countdown thread. When you start a thread since to say "f-ck you" to another member, you're going to get in trouble, especially when Florida's been causing a lot of crap recently.
Tristan...this is the exact response he got for being banned.....Yes he did call out ShadowFire but he didn't say F U he said F OFF, (mean go away). In his "count down post" he did ask a question in regards to race nite. "Who do you think the fastest cars are going to be?" Yes I can understand if he was banned for starting a flame war with SF but that was not the case as seen below. I also don't agree with the fact that in both Blue's and my husband's banned there was a smartass comment by the moderator I.E. cannonfodder??? That is not professional or called for.
Sorry...
You have been banned from posting on this site as of 2007-06-21 21:26:48. This ban will expire 2007-06-28 21:21:03 Pacific Time.
Reason: You have seen other people get banned for their countdown threads, enjoy your week vacation.
If you believe this to be in error, please contact us.
My two cents,

like we said here banned and locked for posting about a j-body show on a jbody site of a jbo show!! its called promoting and just a FYI each post had new info in it and this does not go under post horing! nor under cross posting. On top of that Blue gets banned for John posting a count down and had nothing to do with it and stopped when he got the warning. I guess telling another member thank you for posting gets you ban on here. Also another member pointing out that someone has two accounts on here, lets break that down one is a personal that is paid and then a business account that is also paid plus more.
haha
You have received a forum warning:
Warning: Do not use the quote feature to post whore.
i got a warning for quoting chris and i definitely am a post whore with 9 total posts this month so far. somebody better stop me!
haha whatever who cares, all ya'll bitchin and whinin is quite entertaining to say the least
Shadowfire, I thought you and Chris ironed out everything this morning about last night? Why are you still fighting about this??? And with you just quoting the rules that are already listed at the top of this topic does that not make you guilty of post whoring also???

where did I do any of this?? I did not attack you.. YOu if anything have jump in our post and call them lame, so you should be getting warned. YOu are doing it now. Also you qoute if we have a problem to contact the mods. Well I have tried and they will not contact me back, but yet they will tell there friends that they banned me, or what I have done wrong, but they will not respond to my inquiries. SO how are we to understand things??
"Reason: You have seen other people get banned for their countdown threads, enjoy your week vacation"
I'm truly asking a serious question. Where is this in the rules??? This mod is making up things to ban for. YOu say follow the rules, but there is no rules against countdown threads. Now if you are going to try and say this is post whoring (which I do not see how) then say because you posted whore, bt instead a reason that is not in the rules was used. What sense does that make??

You have been banned from posting on this site as of 2007-06-20 21:26:21. This ban will expire 2007-06-27 21:20:42 Pacific Time.
Reason: You were warned about not making multiple threads to countdown an event. You can now countdown the days until you can post again.
Blue and I was talking (about the FL SHOW = shameless plug) and this is the reason he got banned. Here again the moderator had a smartass comment to make toward the person being banned.....HOW PROFESSIONAL....

Heres the del with FL:
first...there are some good folks in FL, wont argue that at all.
Then there are some who just seem to thing they are some sort of celebrity, and want to be treated as such...
HOWEVER FL J's, in whatever form or name it is/was/will be has been nothing but drama, infighting and popularity. Many of the faces have changed, plenty more have not. I should know...i was a pretty active member of FL Js (Tampa area) from 2000-late 2006, when my interest in the sport compact scene pretty much ran out, for numerous reasons that ill spare you all from having to read. Sadly this kind of behavior shouldnt be a suprise, and should be expected from many members of the FL group.
Sorry if it offends anyone, but its the truth.

i am sorry but some of those reasons for banning are silly if you ask me and if you don't follow the rules you get banned. If that is the case they need to update the rules on here and some of those statement are just uncalled for.
