BMW Track Day at GIR w/ a few openings

The Central Florida BMW Club is hosting a track day at Gainesville Raceway on May 20th. It's a Sunday, and I will be out there flogging the S2000. However, they need a few more people to come out and fill in the remaining spots. I'm not sure of the level of experience among their members, so road course virgins may or may not want to enter. BMW clubs are pretty notorious for being serious about their track days, but I can't say for any certainty at this event.

Anyway, the cost is $100, and all the other info is on the link I posted at the top of this here thread.

You will likely need your own helmet, but I am bringing one extra helmet with me.

Nobody interested in actually seeing how good their car is on a real road course?

This was actually the first track i raced my Cavalier on way back in the day. It's a lot of fun.

How many spots are left? I'm not sure yet if I can make it.

I'd love to go, but money is kinda tight since I just splurged on Koni's and GC's. Thank god I'll finally be done with all my schooling in December.

Yeah, money's tight for a lot of people. I barely squeaked out enough for my new tires and front swaybar. Oh well, maybe next time I can get a few J's out there.

Did you check with INTMO?

No. I talked to Vijay and sent Brian (orion) a PM via Brevard Motorsports. I think I'm still a member of the INTMO forums, so I think I'll post up there. Maybe get Saav to bring out the rally beater DSM again.

I'm sure INTMO could fill the remaining slots. Next time I'm down visiting a friend in Coco Beach I should try and come out to a BMS outting. You guys got any roads down there suitable to spirited driving?

Almost no good roads down here. There are some real nice twisty roads, but nearly all of them are in or around residential areas, or have speed bumps from hell. Some of them I can't even drive the S2000 on without scraping.

I can't wait to see what the car does this Sunday. I've got the Koni's and Ground Control's on and cross weighted and brand new A3S05's on some Kosei K1's. Should be fairly fast. I had been paxing around 20th or so on some old R3S04's and H&R Springs and AGX struts.

Let me know how the Hooser A-specs work out for you. I'm rolling on Kumho Ecsta MX's because I have no way of getting an extra set of tires to events (rear diffuser = no ability for a trailer hitch)
