can anyone install or know anyone that can install springs and struts on my 2000 4dr cavy? im getting sportlines w/ dspecs. cheap and reliable would be nice =)
Where are you located? Suspension changes are easy.... you might want to consider trying it yourself if you have some mechanical ability!
There will always be someone faster than you, but thousands slower and dumber than you.
I do them fairly cheap. What are you looking to put on? If it's just a simple suspension install, I'll do it for $50 and a case of beer.
I live in markham. I would change it myself, but I would need to rent a spring compressor and a set of tools -_-".
soooo Wild Weasel I'm looking to replace my stock struts and springs with Tokico D-spec struts and Eibach Sportline springs. What kind of beer do you like? haha
Case of Blue would be nice. Getting kinda tired of the Keith's and Corona I've been drinking lately.
Bigger issue will be the timing. Do you already have the parts?
Are you available on July 6th?
haha so you've been doing a lot of work huh?
I got the springs but I'm waiting on the struts which I will be purchasing tmrw from jamie from this forum. So I should get the struts before july 6th. And if I do I will be available on July 6th.
Yeah... I pretty much keep my beer fridge stocked through the summer doing this sort of thing.
Ok, if you get them tomorrow, let me know and I'll pencil you in. Drop me a PM with your number and stuff.
Ya i wish my beer fridge was stocked like yours...actually i just wish i had a beer fridge haha
got any later dates? cause he has to ship them to me so i dont want you to set time aside for me and the struts not arrive.
I'll have to check my calendar. I know I have stuff going on in every weekend in July, but may have 1 day of the 2 available for some of them. Best to let me know when you're ready and then we'll find a day.
We could always do it on a weeknight if we start promptly at 5:30 or so.
he's good too
he did mine...
just make sure you have the bolts hahahhahahaha

Just to steal business I'll do it for $40 and a case of PC Genuine Draft... less than $1 a beer.
HAH!
I win.
lol... I'm joking. But seriously it's not a big job I'm sure kevin can get it done fairly quick... hardest part for me is the lower bolt on the rear struts. Ugh I hate that bolt.
Don't forget to get an alignment within a week after getting this done.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
Yeah... definitely need an alignment afterward. Sadly, I don't think I'll be putting an alignment machine in my driveway or garage anytime soon.
Chris, you just need a bigger breaker bar.

i hate that bolt... but its for different reasons. i didnt realize until a day later that "hey, maybe its not a 19mm bolt after all!"

I had to put the handle for my aluminum jack over my breaker bar and jump up and down on it to break one of those damn bolts loose! Impact gun was NOT up to the task, lol. Try spraying it down with PB Blaster or something similar, that stuff works wonders.

I've had it so tight that my 1000ft-lb Ingersoll Rand titanium impact wrench wouldn't budge it at all. It's not so bad anymore, thank God.
