OMG! In Markham and need: A) Food B) Entertainment not consisting of boobage

As the title says. Little help from the local mid-east folks would be great. Out on a charter in Markham til' tommorow at around 2pm. Trying to avoid Pizza cause that's what I always order when I'm out of town.

there are lots of great restaurants in Markham. anything near the intersection of HWY 404 and HWY 7 is great. there is a place called Fire and Ice that i really like, as well as Baton Rouge, a few good Korean BBQ places (cant remember any names) and of course...Mandarin.

Fire and Ice is a stir fry place. you go in, order the type of stir fry you want (chicken, beef, etc) then you leave your table, grab a big ass bowl and head to the tables with all the vegetables on it. pick your favourite vegetables then hand it to the cooks at the end of the line where you also pick your sauce. they make your food while in the meantime you hit the salad bar. by the time your done your salad, stir fry is on it way.

Baton Rogue is just great food to begin with. damn good steaks, amazing ribs, and one of the best spinach and artichoke dip i have ever had, but its so big its almost a meal in itself.

there are a few good bars up there too. Nava for one comes to mind. its more of a lounge/club, little more higher class.

if you dont mind driving to toronto...

good food there, friendly people, great entertainment. last time i was there, beginning of January, they were building a huge entertainment area there too. golf simulators, putting green, slot car track, hockey rink, basketball court, whirley ball (kinda like basket ball, but you drive around in bumper cars...)

and there is always pacific mall for a good time. you can get lost in there for hours... literally! thats at steeles and Warden ( i think... just take 404 to steels and go east on steeles till you see it on the north side.

have fun!

Thanks partner. I'm driving my 17-ton-Ferrari (a.k.a. my motor/coach) up there, we'll see if it fits in the parking lot.

Ok so update:

Mall. Big. I think I got lost in there for two hours, lots of tea but only like one place sells coffee...

Anyways... I now know how one of my asian buddies feels living in Sudbury with me.

Good food tho.

Kinda pissed at one of the dealers, said he wouldnt even let me BUY rims to put on my "crappy american car" aka the Sunfire.

yeah some of them can be pricks there. i was there last week with one of my friends who is asian by the way. he has a new 08 civic si (nice car might i add). we went looking there for a few things that you cant really find anywhere else...and for bubble tea!

anyways, they didnt really feel like talking to either of us to be honest. they sat behind the counter staring at their laptops. every once and a while you would hear the letters "JDM" in some form of a sentence.

i just go in there and tell them what i want. they dont really care all that much lol.

Was it Pacific Mall you went to?

Korean BBQ at Commerce gate is always good. All you can eat

When my 17 ton coach has trouble keep traction at 70k's, you know the roads are bad!
And those bastards at dispatch sent me out today again.

But I'm staying at the West Theater Hotel. Free food and super-nice room.
