hey there, anyone first works at future shop? second i have 01 sunfire GT with a NUSTART (CM4200) installed... Today in the cold i started it as usual... got my winter bush and cleaned the windows... I went to open the door and to my shocking surpise my door had locked on me... Now after waiting nearly 20 min with the car on, my dad shows up with the spare key unlock the door and drive home without any problems... At home though the rear defroster stays on... so i disconnect the neg term and replace it to no avail.... help anyone i am going to future shop tomorrow to see what the deal is? now as for the receipt and owner ship the car was bought 2 nd hand with it... receipt i may not have and hugh issues there? Currently the battery is disconnected till i can either figure out what happen or get looked at!!!! Please help someone???? peace.

future shop....blows, i had the same problem with my viper alarm, it went back 10 times before it was fixed....and i fixed it myself. Get the problem fixed and then go over everything again. retape all there bullcrap, and make sure there connections are good..mine ended up being a faulty ground and a wire hooked backwards, and there the experts. If you want my opinion go to a local shop and not a big box store, they don't care about your car when they have 50 more....and supporting local company's is better anyways!

well after further inspection i found a couple of wire that were cooked and melt my plastic bezel (now i know what that burn smell is) i tried following the wires (not an expert) but unable to find the inside main unit.... now as for future shop very classy people, i phoned first asked to speak with one tech, but they were busy so i was speaking with the audio guy... explain what happen to a deaf ear who said i would have to make an appointment to have it check out at a hourly fee!!! now let me get this straight they want me to go in have them check it out at a fee even though there the ones who install the system.... now what if there was a fire in the car would i still have to pay a fee. As for local shop? sometimes you forget all about them, one of the guys was so helpful (over the phone) tried to help me disconnect the main unit (no avail), so i am going to go see him monday to have it check out no fee initial. Future shop never again even though i didn;t have the dam thing installed there very poor customer sevice.
See...and now you know where it is next time! They are what they say...In the FUTURE they will fix it!

Outta curiousity maybe I didn't read this correctly, but if you used the auto start, wouldn't the key be on you while you were cleaning the windows ? I had auto start last year until it killed my pcm haven't had it hooked up since considering it was a $500 GM fix.
well i usually leave the key inside when i get my brush.... well i use to with my old car and set up so i just assumed my fault... Yeah i don;t know what the deal is but it still smells like somethings burning! i don't know, however i will find out tomorrow...
