Hey everyone,
Wow it's been a while since I've posted here...doesn't look like a lot has changed. For those of you who don't know me I'm one of the first people in the GTA to successfully install the Saab 9-3 turbo on my sunfire. Well I shouldn't take full credit because the folks at Racetech made it possible.
I've had my share of fun with this car...a little too much at sometimes. The car runs a beautiful 13.8 on the quarter mile at 9psi. Last year when I had it dynoed, it read 240HP and 281TQ at 11 psi. This car is nothing short of a rocket and don't just take my word for it, ask the many contenders that have made attempts to squish my cars image only to see my car erect as a winner in almost every line up. Yes, I've lived quite the dream with this car. 350Z's, SRT-4's, Skyline's, just to name a few became victims of victory for my Sunfire. I even lined up against Chris's notorious 2.4 turbo (pushing 350+ HP I believe) and managed to keep up. But speed wasn't the only quality my car presented, oh no, my car is known for it's second to none internal STOCK blowoff valve. Nothing beats the confused looks of racers and spectators alike when they experience intensely pressured air furiously looking for a way out. When the air hits the atmosphere it's like a Boeing 747 taking off. Man I love this car. Unfortunately, like all other good things......there's a time when it must come to an end. I just recently got married and am now trying to get my act together and focus on equity that actually retains value. Plus, no matter how much you modify a Sunfire it still, at the end of the day, is just a Sunfire.
Anyway I had the turbo installed on my car back when the odometer read 80,000km. The car now has just over 155,000km and runs better then it did before the turbo. The turbo setup is very stock like and very closely resembles the actual setup from the Saab 9-3. The turbo is fully intercooled with 2.5 inch piping which is Mendrel bent...I refused to cheap out--this setup was designed to last. A boost controller is installed to regulate the total pressure obtained however it can achieve over 17 psi. I currently have it set at 10psi which I think is the optimal level given that I'm using stock internals. You read right, I'm using stock internals. For any opposer's who think my engine is on the verge of blowing up hear this, the turbo was installed at 80(k) km and the car is just turning over the 155(k) km mark...if anything was going to go wrong, trust me it would've happened. The engine sounds flawless with no valve ticks, knocking, or any other signals that would indicate an issue. The dependability of any vehicle is all in the initial setup, my car was no exception. For fuel, we used the original Saab 9-3 green tops and standard FMU. The car was tuned for optimal stioech levels as the car has never leaned out and isn't pigged for fuel. I get 500km to the tank for both city and highway driving and occasional boosting.
As you can probably tell, I'm crazy about my car. Truth be told, ever since I personally drove my car off the Pontiac dealers lot with the odometer rolling over to the first km I've been ecstatic. I religiously change the oil every 5000km and keep a track record of every repair/oil change this car has ever experienced.
Here is a list of the cars features:

The car is immaculate with no signs of rust and one subtle scratch on the rear driver quarter panel. I made it a habit of polishing this car twice a year so it was always fully prepped for winter. This car has never been in an accident and has passed certifications and emissions WITH the turbo installed. That being said on to the price, I'm looking for $8000. I think that price is reasonable with what you're getting.
I'm looking for serious inquiries only. NO TEST PILOTS.
I'm looking to sell this car to someone who will give it a good home and I'm not in any rush. If you're interested or have any questions let me know.
PS-I'll be posting some pics shortly....
good luck with the sale clean car
Nice car, hope you get what your looking for. On a side note you sound like you should be a salesman... you have quite the charismatic pitch. lol just my two cents.
Good luck!
The car is definately quik. We were quite surprised when we took it for the first test drive after installing it, and it only got quiker since. There is absolutely no lag at all.
PS-I gave both those cars forced induction, Im so proud! lol
LOL, I was waiting for the comeback. I tried to be very selective with my words as I knew you'd eventually catch on.
For the record, Chris's car would have taken my car on the higher gears. I'll admit, that night Chris's car had a slight boost leak or something so it wasn't running 100%...more like 60%. His car is capable of achieving I believe about 450-500hp and he was only running near 300hp (his guess, maybe lower maybe higher). For my car to even be considered in his class makes me feel honored as hell. So remember, if you purchase this car you are not only getting the car but also the satisfaction of knowing that one day, just maybe, it might not only keep up with but pass cars pushing 500hp+.
For advertising purposes and since Chris is on here now.......I SMOKED HIM!
Trust me..he isnt going to let this one go. There is no way this guy could last day without boost
