Moving.. Would like to trade Cobalt SS for Truck
Monday, July 31, 2006 5:03 PM
Ok...

I am suppose to be moving out to Alberta soon (well this Friday, may need to be postponed)...

I need a Full Size 4x4 Truck for a hitch and stuff.... I would rather have a Turbo Diesal GM.. But Ford or Dodge will do.. Maybe a Ford 350....

I am lookin for a 2004 and up year if possible...

I am not looking to buy, I am looking to either Trade up my Cobalt for it (I pay your monthly payments for your car and you the same as mine.. So if your leasing I will just take over your payments and same goes for my car..

It's a 2005 Cobalt SS with 25,000km on it... I have a RKsport Hood on it ($1000 hood),, Stage 2 Kit (GM warrenty) $1500.. Smaller Pulley as well not installed ($120).. Lowered with Eibach Sportlines (cost me $600 installed).. Armrest and Lower Front Grill (cost $250 brand new from GM).. Winter rims with Dunlop M3 wintersport tires (cost $1400)... Tinted (cost $200)... Pager Alarm Sysem with remote start (cost over $1000).... B&M Shifter (cost like $250 or something around that)...

So that's the car.. I am looking to trade leases or if your purchase your truck.. The buy back on my car in 3 years (left on lease) is $10,000 at the end which is really good.. Or it can be bought back now can't remember the price..

If your interested let me know prostar01@rogers.com .. Hopefully we can work out a deal...

Well

I am not considering a trade, just to buy it if I keep the car.. Since I am not going to Alberta..

But the car is still up for sale...

here

Well Guys...

I am putting the car up for sale again.. Since it's all been re-done and lots of stuff added.. It's a yellow 2005 Cobalt SS with approx 25,000km on it.. Regular servies (with receipts) have all been done. All work that has been done to it (dealer warrenty and such) are included if needed..

The work that has been done it... Lowered with Eibach Sport Lines, RKsport Ram Air Hood, Compustar 2 Way Paging Alarm/Start Combo, Added centor console and lower rad grill cover, Tinted windows 20% all around, Winter rims and tires (Dunlop M3), Extra sunroof clip, extra SS passenger side grill (inside car), Stage 2 kit with a 2.8 Pulley (not installed yet) also that comes with the 1 step colder plugs (again not in yet) and a B&M Short Shifter.

So I figure with the amount of money I have spent on this car... We would work out a deal where you pay a certain amount of what that stuff cost (approx $7000+ worth).. So maybe like $5000 or so.... Most people pay for like 1 or 2 months in payments when someone takes over a lease.. I am giving you $2000 worth of stuff free which is like 5 months payed... I feel this is a fair deal..

Reason for selling... I have wanted a truck for a long time, although I enjoy my car very much.. When I was first looking around for a new vechicle, I was shopping for a full sized truck.. Then this car came out to Canada and I loved it.. So I switch my mind.. Well when I was suppose to move to Alberta it got me into needing a truck.. Which makes me hood on the truck again. And to make it even better.. I found a truck I love and already has alot done to it.. It's a 2004 Silverado that has been lifted 3" in the frame and 6" in the body for a total of 9" lift.. It just is what I wanted.. A fullsize 4x4 lifted..

So if your interested in this Cobalt.. You can get me by email prostar01@rogers.com or msn jonny_1982@hotmail.com .. Or call my cell phone Jonathan 905-999-0448..

Thanks

If I can just make a suggestion: this is only my opinion. please feel free to tell me off

But no one is going to pay an extra $5000 for what you paid $7000 for. For most people thats a depreciation of the car to have mods. Take all those parts off and expect to get HALF what you paid for them if you are lucky. Then get rid of the car through leasebusters or something and you are good to go. Otherwise the car will just never sell like this.
Remember that just because you chose to mod your car with certain parts, does not mean other people want their car lowered, faster, painted, short shifter..etc.. you are excluding interested parties the more mods you add.
This is just what I've found selling modded cars (all of which I parted out, sold quick and made more than I was asking modded)

Just a friendly piece of advice...no flame intended.

Well I know what you mean... but...

Where I have posted this car up for sale has been on car enthurist websites.. Which I figure most of the people on those sites will probably want most of what I have done.. I mean if I post it somewhere like autotrade or something.. Then sure I would probably be better of selling it stock...

But with the thing about people who wouldn't wanna pay $5000 grand for what I put into it... Well if they want that stuff then they would be willing to pay less money to get all that stuff.. I know I would.. Well that is why I am looking buying the truckk.. Cause it's already lifted 9" which is a high truck like I wanted with mudders and such.. So I am getting it already done at a lower cost to me which doesn't bother me cause that is what I want..

But I mean if someone wants this car completely stock and just wants to take over my lease.. Then I will do that as well.. I will part the car out if they don't want all that stuff.. I just don't wanna start parting it out without having an interested buyer... Cause if I end up being stuck with the car.. I will be sorta mad cause I wouldnt have all that stuff anymore.. I don't wanna screw myself before I even get a buyer.

But I mean.. I have no problem selling it as it stand now or stock...

But as for the price.. If people want that stuff.. Then I think about $5000 fair considering all the stuff done.. And Stage 2 was just put in.. And the pulley isn't even installed yet.. I think it's a fair price..

People look here for deals..... So basicly cheap, you can get more on the AutoTrader. Your best bet is to part it out then sell. maybe keep the hood on to attractt buyers in a good way.

An option is to sell the parts seperately, before you even sell the car. If no one buys the parts, no big deal they are already on the car. I'd post 2 different options:
1: as you have already
2: Price for the car bone stock, and the parts seperately. If someone wants the extra parts, tack that onto the sale price at a fair agreed upon price.

Brocklanders just typifies the type of people you're gonna sell to if you sell it on this website....CHEAP. The whole "mods dont add value" argument is sooooo played out. A mod is no different than an option you pick on a performance car. Example is the track package for the 350z.

Autotrader is your best bet.

Good luck with the sale.

YesI am willing to sell without a trade..

I want the lease taken over with $5000.... Or I can start parting it out and sell it with minimal stuff if she doesnt want it all...

I believe $5000 if a very fair price.. I have put alot of money into the car and just looking for a little back.. I think of that is.. $2000 off... When most people only offer to pay like 1-2 months of payments.. So your getting like 4-5payments..

Let me know if she is interested..

So you want her to give you $5000 plus take over your lease? or you're giving her $5000 to take over the lease? I'm confussed

Give me $5000 cause I have over $7000 in mods done to it.. so its like paying 4-5 months of payments for her.. unless u want me to return it back to stock.. I can do that..

Instead of cash......

I would also consider

Motorbike *sportsbike*
ATV (4x4)
Seadoo
Snowmobile

Both that would need to be older (you pay me some money still) or of equal value.. I don't wanna put out anymore money as I would be buying a truck

If you got other really interesting things let me know.. But those 2 are really what I want...

I just emailed you back bro, and no way I could part with my bike or seadoo (both 2 years old i might add) and if I had an ATV same deal! haha

You Got Mail.....

I can basically return it back to stock except the stage kit.... Let me know we can work out a deal.......

Re: Moving.. Would like to trade Cobalt SS for Tru

Well I am willing to sell cheaper then posted price.. Or I am willing to return it to stock (minus stage kit cause I dunno how they would do that, if Ifind out they can i will)...

I am also parting out this car to return back to stock if no one buys it as is.. It's easier to sell stock then modded I guess.. So ...

The lease per month is 407.58/month... There is just under 3 years left...

$2500 if a very good deal as far as I am concerned.. The stage kit I just put in is worth $1500.. The Hood Is Worth $1000..

I might be taking the alarm out tho.. Cause that is another $1000....

That is still $5400 worth of stuff....

(If you want the alarm, we can negoiate)
