2005 Cobalt SS (Durham/GTA AREA)
Saturday, February 18, 2006 4:53 PM
Well....

The time has come.. I really love my new 2005 Cobalt SS, but I wanna get rid of it.. I enjoy the car and all.. But when I was looking for a new car I really wanted to pick up a truck 4x4, but then this sorta just came out on the market.. So I got it as it was flashy and fast...

Well not I have decided that I am not enjoying it as much as I though.. I guess cause I don't race and I don't do that tracks much i figure I don't need it.. And also I have a done-up Beretta that I am finishing up.. So I really don't need 2 done up cars.. And I would enjoy having the truck instead and a done up car.. Sorta like having the best of both worlds.. Brand new truck and a done up car..

Now I am looking for someone to take over the lease.. I am willing to pay the transfer fees for the car.. Now.. The car has some minor damage to the front end.. The hood and the fender was dented when I hit a pole a couple weeks ago.. Since then all the steering components have been replaces which just cost me $1400.. Now I will be getting the car fixed before the buyer takes over the lease.. Unless they really want it fast.. Then I will give you the car, and stil get it fixed for you.. I will take care of the bills.. This hasn't affected any sorta of frame damage.. It was a minor hit...

Now I also have winter tires for it.. That I can give you instead of paying for transfer fees and some one of the damage or whatever.. The tires and rims just cost me $1400 (around that with taxs and everything).. The are Dunlop M3 Winter Sport tires... Everything was brand new.. I also have a B&M shifter that I will include cutting the cost down on the damage cost as well... I figure the winter tires and rims cost me $1400 and the shifter was like $250.. That's $1650.. Maybe I will pay you like $1000 towards the damage.. which will prbably cover like 85% of it.. And you get away with $650 worth of parts as well.. We'll talk tho..

Now.. The car is yellow.. I have got the windows tinted 20% all around.. I also got the optional sunroof which cost me $1100... The payments each months is $411.16 each month.. I am pretty sure the payments stay the same.. But if anything they will be cheaper if some of my options come with me.. But again I am not sure as I have never done this before.. But if anything the payments will still be $411.16/month.. Me personally I pay $330/month for insurance..

I also have some winter mats that I can give you with the car.. As well as the stock mats.. The car has a modded air box to make for a little more power etc.. I have the parts to turn it back into stock if you would prefer..

It's got the leather interior with yellow inserts front and back and door panels.. The car has 14,000km on it as of today Feb 18, 2005... I don't drive it much.. I drive about 80km per day to and from work each day... And weekends I usally end up having the car sit all weekend as my friends drive.. I choose not to smoke in the car so my freinds drive cause there is no smoking allowed in my car at all.. The car isn't abused and I have had 1 oil change done so far.. That's is all that was been needed yet.. Next one is due in 6000km more..

Also.. If you want to purchase the car at the end of the lease.. It's got a really low payment at the end.. $10,000 at the end of 4 years.. And you own the car.. Only $300-400 more then what it would have cost to buy it right off the lot.. I did the lease way to keep the monthly payments down...

If you need anymore info you can contact me here.. Or email me at prostar01@rogers.com.. Or you can give me a call on my cell 905-999-0448,,

Please only serious buyers/lease takeovers.. I don't want my time wasted as this needs to be a serious commitment..

Thanks

Sorry to see you're parting with it
Some advice:
Fix the car before you even think about putting it on the market. Showing those pics, however minor will only scare off people.
Seeing the car in pristine shape with bills of the 'minor' accident repair will go over better. Also, put it to stock and sell the aftermarket.
A pre modded SS and an accident are two reasons why I personally, would not buy it.

Best of luck man!

Ya..

I should fix it before I show the pictures. I know what you mean it would go faster.. But at the same time.. I figure if no one takes it... It's not a big deal cause I can turn it back into the dealership (where my friend, will just waive the fees if I purchase a new car.. hopefully).... It's like like an old car right.;. If you can get rid of it your sorta stuck.. Which this, I can turn to the dealer or lease busters.

Also the car isn't modded really.. I have tinted windows (which would be staying on) and a B&M shifter which is about it.. The tires are just winter tires so they arn't a mod either.. And my short antenna.. So nothing serious...

I hate to part with it too... I have made up my mind 100% yet tho.. Once I go into the dealer and work out some numbers for a 2005-06 Sierra or Silverado 4x4 Extended cab, and see if I can afford it or not.. That will make my decision.. Cause if I can afford it, then the car is gone.. If I can afford it then I will either look into a Colorado or keep the car.. Although I really rather have a full size truck..

If I keep the car..Then I wil end up getting an aftermarket hood (probably RKsport Fiberglass hood).. And a brand new fender from the dealer.. Then she will be all back to new.. Then I will mod it in the summer...

But like I said.. once I find out some numbers from my buddy with the truck.. Then I can make my choice.. Insurance matters too lol.. I can't decide if they will charge me more for the truck or less.. Since the car is a sports car, and the truck isnt.. But then again the truck is a 4x4 and about $10,000+ more in price...

To answer your question

They are Dunlop M3 tires.. Which are like one of the best sport winter tires out there.. They cost me a pretty penny...
Then because the Cobalt is a 5x110 bolt pattern, you cant just go pick up a steelie from Canadian Tire and use it (the $50 ones).. I spend $100/rim.. So $400 just in steelies..
Then the balance and such..

Trust me.. These arn't cheap tires. And the rims are costly too.

Bump

Taking offers.. I just need this thing gone ASAP cause I am really wanting a truck that is for sale right now.. It's 10hrs away but I am willing to drive..

So that I can get my hands on this truck ASAP.. I am willing to entertain offers for my car.. Serious people only please, I don't wanna deal with people who don't have the money for it or are just "wondering"..... I wanna have people who are almost 100% serious about it and can get the approved credit from GM etc...

Again would like this gone ASAP

BTW: This is what I am wanting to get.. (can own both.. too much money!!)

Plus you take my lease...

Even though I say forced sale.. I wont be giving it away for free.. The stage kit alone cost me $1400... I would like to get a little money back...

It's not a rip off.. Just I guess people dont have the cash or don't wanna spend the money on the mods....

I can just removed the mods and sell it just like any other lease I guess.. Where the person either gets nothing or maybe like 1 month paid..

Ok...

This is so bad to do.. but I want this lifted F350 so bad that I am willing to take the biggest money lost that I ever have had to take.... I hope it's gonna be worth it cause I am loosing out bigtime.. Just to get what I want..

I am willing to give ALL of this stuff for FREE!!!.... Yes that is right FREE!!! with the signing of my lease... So all you have to do is take over my lease... No money needs to be given to me .. .Just pay GM the lease money every month..

So I mean.. I am loosing my money on my orginal downpayment (like $4000 or something).. The mods that I did (about $7000) plus all the lease payments I have made.. So I mean were talking like $20,000 or whatever...

So just take over my lease and you get everything with it for no extra charge..

I hope this helps... I just want my lease gone and his truck in my driveway..

Don't take this the wrong way...but you're an idiot. You're gonna kick yourself in the ass AND in the nuts 5 months from now when you hate everything about that truck.

Meh, whatever.

I'll be first in line to laugh and say told you so

Re: 2005 Cobalt SS (Durham/GTA AREA)

Thats tough....but it's a car....probably THE worst investment you could make.
Personally thats a big loss just to have a truck. So you're losing the initial $4000+$7000* in mods, a year and a half of payments ($411) thats $7400. Insurance ($330x18 months) is $6000. [I won't include ins. because we all pay it]

My admittedly guestimated math tells me you payed $18400 for a car you are giving away. PLUS I assume the new truck won't be given to you free of charge, thats a hard pill to swallow.
You've nearly paid for the car, I can guarantee you the car as it sits is not worth that.
My advice:
Part the car out at whatever you can get, then sell it as stock.

*lets be serious, you haven't paid NEAR that much. In the first post you rate the parts at a $1650 value.
B&M= $250 tops?
Lowering springs= $500 on the HIGH side.
Hood= $1700+paint inc.
Centre console= $100
Winter wheels= $1400 (you got ripped on that)

$3800 on the high side of things...

Re: 2005 Cobalt SS (Durham/GTA AREA)
Tuesday, January 09, 2007 4:19 PM
I never said $1650 in value for mods.. lol I would never say that.. The stage kit cost me $1400 alone... So I highly doubt I would say $1650.. And if I did then that is a major typo.. I don't see anything up there.. But in the meantime that first post is also very old without alot of the new stuff listed..

Like I said.. I listed everything I paid.. Here is what I basically paid.. If you think I got ripped then you can think what you want.. But when you spend lots of time shopping around and everyone is higher priced.. Then I guess that means thats the lowest price..

B&M - $250
Stage 2 - $1400 installed
Pulleyboyz Pulley with new bolts - $120 shipped
Hood - I cant really say cause it was all included in the price when I got the car fixed.. But I can tell you it sells for alot of RKsports site.
Center Console - $150 I believe at GM (whatever it is.. just call parts counter)
Front Grill - About $120
Winter Tires $1400 mounted and balance.. I don't know how you can say I got ripped of when rims were $100 each plus tax.. Then I got like one of the most expensive winter tires you could get.. Dunlop M3 wintersports.. I didn't cheap out and buy crap winters.
Tint - $280
Alarm - $1400 (or so)... Very good alarm with autostrat and other goodies
Lower Springs - $600 isntalled
Sparkplugs - $45

Like I said.. There is about over $7000 worth into the car in mods.. Believe me or not.. Ripped of your not.. That's what into it.. So I mean no point in argueing this anywaz.. Cause I said that all the mods are free when someone takes the rest of the lease over.. So I mean doesnt matter if they are like $4000 in mods or $7000+ in mod.. The point is its free.. And you can't complain about price when the stuff is free.. That's jsut stupid.. It's a bonus.. Not a must!!!

And I don't know why stuff always needs to be a discussion.. Like people make a big deal out of everything for some reason that is unknown.. I want the car gone and I want a truck.. Doesn't matter if is that lifted Ford 350 or another 4x4 truck.. Hell I can end up getting a new truck from GM for all I Care.. The point is.. I don't want a car.. I want a truck.. I always wanted a truck, I never wanted this car like big time like others who own it... It happen to come out when I was getting a new vehicle... I am a bad impulse buyer.. The car appealed to me and I went for it.. So the Point and Laugh list of me getting a truck and not wanting it in like 5 months doesnt/wont exist.. Cause that is what I wanted from the beginning..

Please just leave this alone.. I am trying to get rid of a lease.. Not have problems with people that seem to need to arguing about senseless stuff.. I am tired of it.. Your all adults .. Act like it...

Here's an idea. Stop posting on here, and any other "car" board in existance.

Everywhere you go, you get mocked. Trust me, it's not ALL the other people on ALL the other boards that are the problem.

6 months from now you'll be BEGGING someone to buy this truck off you so you can buy your next personal erection on wheels. If you never wanted that car, why'd you dumb a bunch of money into it? And now you're crying because you're going to have to eat all that cost just to get rid of the car so you can have your oversized Tonka toy.

And yes, you DID get ripped off big-time on your winter package. $250/tire? I'm sorry but Dunlop M3s don't cost that much to anyone with a clue. It shows which category you fall into now, doesn't it?

Point is....you don't want a discussion? DON'T POST HERE. Go play on some truck forums, maybe there's some dumb bastard on one of them looking for a modded Cobalt to buy. Wouldn't that be ironic?

Shut your mouth...

I didn't cause anything.. nor am I crying... So why don't you grow up and act mature.. Or is that too hard??? Cause all I see it's an idiot opening his big mouth for no reason...

All I did was want to get my lease taken over.. Just like anyone else who decides they don't want the car they leased anymore.. I just said I am eating the cost.. I never cried about it.. I am stating what I am doing.. So I am sorry your an idiot and can't tell the difference between a winer and a person stating what they are willing to do..

The $1400 was installed and balanced.. So it was a mixture of different cost.. So @!#$ off.. That's what I paid.. End of story.. Holy @!#$ why is this such a big @!#$ deal.. The stuff is free anywaz. So what does it matter if I paid @!#$ $2 for the damn tires.. FREE IS FREE so it doesnt matter

I am the one loosing the money.. So why is this such a big deal to everyone what I do with MY CAR and MY MONEY.. It's my money I can do what I wnant with it.. If I want to sink money into my Cobalt to turn around and sell it.. Then I will.. I go out and work hard all day to earn my money.. And I don't need anyone to tell me what to do with it..

And maybe you didn't read.. I WANTED A TRUCK TO BEGIN with.. Doesn't that tell you something.. Hmmm maybe that I am getting rid of the car for a reason.. So I wouldn't be selling it.. Ya I am an idiot for buying the Cobalt SS and sinking money into it thinking that down the road I would acutally setting with it and not want a truck.. But that's not the case.. Who cares.. People waste lots of money in life.. Vechiles is just one of them..

Lasttime I check.. I wasnt doing anything wrong.. It's all you people that are jumping on me for selling my car.. I didn't start a fight or anything.. But not with all this idiotic behavoiour your making me pissed.. I buy stuff have my fun with it and then sell it.. So what who cares.. I get bored easy.. Get a life and let me live mine how I want.. I like to buy stuff use it for a bit get bored and then sell t and loose money.. That what I want to do with my life... So go ahead call me an idiot or whatever else you want to.. I don't really care.. Cause I don't know you nor do I want to.. Your ignorant anywaz...

FX GTZ,

Have you looked at Leasebusters.com?

I think you may have a lot more success on that website in getting out of your lease. I have been on the site quite often over the last couple of months looking at a lease take over. I just looked and there are no SS/SC's available in Ontario, but in Quebec they show to be higher cost than you, so you might have some luck.

Good luck with the sale and new truck.
