exhaust shops/prices?

Hey everyone.

Just curious about how much a full exhaust should cost me, including header. I currently have a magnaflow muffler that is developing a hole, and a crack in the catback. The pipe is rusting away, and doesn't look salvageable. Just wondering what I should expect to pay for this.

Also, recommend some shops in the K-W - GTA area.

Thanks!

Adam

I've heard only good things about Pipes Performance.

Hey Adam, did you squeeze another winter out of those tires I sold ya?

I'm getting exhaust work done soon and from my research I've found its somewhat cheaper to go with a pre assembled exhaust.

Something like that seems to be the best option, that kit comes straight from magnaflow. Any exhaust shop will be able to install it for ya...

Hope that helps

header - 400
+tx is about what i paid

I know that starting late January, Racetech will be getting an exhaust pro to work with them. Apparently this fella has been doing exhaust for 8+ years or so and can create fully custom ones or but together an off the shelf package for you.

hehe sorry for sounding like a commercial there.

As for prices your looking at anywhere from 500 to 1100 depending on what you want done. All depending on materials, how it's bent, what muffler, on and on.

Haha, they are on their second winter with me right now. The two hurcules tires were at a whopping 6 PSI when I got them out of the garage last fall. Filled them back up and they were fine. Needless to say, I have been driving very cautiously in the snow. All in all, it was a super deal for rims and tires.

Jasonoshawaz24: rust hole. I'm not 100% sure how old the muffler was. Weasel, it used to be C.T. car, so you probably know better than me.

Wojtek and Lil Black Two Four: Thanks for the input.

heh. That exhaust was already on the car when I met him so it's probably from around 99 or early 2000.

I wouldn't expect it to have a hole in it just yet, but I also don't know if aftermarket mufflers generally last as long as the OEM ones.

So I guess Pipes isn't the way to go then...

Well if Rick ends up at Racetech, then I'll definitely be talking to them about a quote.

Wow those are some pretty HIGH PRICES. You can get a full cat back down by a shop that does all of my teams work for around $200-300cash. as long as you bring in the muffler. As for the cat it self he will charge you about $150 to change it with the cat back.
the place is called sams muffler auto express 401/wardan

Just say AJ sent you and he will hook you up. He has done alot of nice car theres.
Sti, hankook targa top prelude,my old cav.

Perf. exh./catbacks are getting to be like the $1000 brake job. It doesn't need to be that way.
The speedy shop I deal with in Simcoe quoted me ~$100 if I bring the muffler for a 2 1/4" catback on my 99 Z
They have done all my race cars, and my daily driver truck, and are ussually in the $100-$200 range. I always supply the mufflers.

For those prices, are you getting crush bent non-stainless tubing or what?

Hey guys well with the whole exhaust thing I was thinking of doing a group buy on the magnaflow dual and single cat back systems. I can get the dual for $900 all in (shipping extra for out of Toronto area) and the Single for $775 all in without shipping.
I'm not sure how many guys are interested but I think this would be a good deal. Any Ideas??

I don't drive my cars in winter, and most of my driving is either racing, or highway, so I don't bother with stainless. They are hydraulic bent. Anything more, and you're just wasting your money, especially when you look at where the bends are in the system.

Brand new, Karo has it for $299.99 US with free shipping within the states. So I have it shipped to the UPS Store in Niagara Falls NY and go pick it up.

With exchange and everything i'm under $350 Canadian....Just need to get a resonator for it.

No, you're just a little over $400 after everything said and done. You also pay 15% tax when you bring it across...well unless you're going to try to smuggle a massive exhaust box into the country, in which case I would advise against it.

Already done

Ended up being about $370ish Canadian including the fee the UPS store charges to receive a package....
