Over new years I'll be staying in Portage for a long weekend. One of the days were thinking about making a day trip Granite Peak. Cascade and Devils head are a few minutes from where were staying, is a 2 hour each way drive to Granite Peak worth over staying local?

I lived in Wausau for a few years but never skied on Granite Peak. A few of my friends did and everyone seemed to rave about. Especially for snowboarding. They've done a lot of improvements over the years and have a lot more slopes than they used to.
