Idea; Please read (Performance)

So, I’m at work, and I called Brian (speed racer) and came up with a good idea.

Put together a "kit" to convert to the LG0\LD2 (Quad-4) Oil pump.

I can provide everything for doing it, down to the oil plug\drill\tap to do it....

But, is there a demand for it?

Ideas?

is that the 2.3 pump where you remove the balance shafts? im sure there would be a @!#$ ton of demand just depends on the price but a kit would be pretty sweet

.... if i include a GM pump, it should be around 450 shipped.......

unless i go balls out, and give you the drill bits too.

so do i understand this right it would be everything that would be needed to do the swap? i mean 450 sounds pretty reasonable and i think if this was a complete kit youd have a lot more bites on it.

Oil pump _GM
Pump Pick Up_GM
Pick up brace_GM
Windage tray_GM
12 Inch pipe plugs
drill bit
tap
Instructions from BrianJBO

There is also talk about making a LD9F23 Performance Kit, to include the listed and

Hex drive gear (to convert older LD2LG0 Quad cams)
proper drill bit to drill out cam for a press fit.
Team GREEN LSD insert

If Tom jumps on board, a 2.2 coil swap.

and a Team GREEN short throw shifter, if i ever get off my lazy ass.

How about some stock intake cam carriers bored out for the 35mm lifters! A HO cam with the ps insert doesn't do any good with the cam not being able to spin in the cam carrier.

Or a kit to convert to the 2.3 power steering.

If I had a welder, I could do the pans....... IF Todd is getting away from making them (I know he had other things going on).

I had the machinist at work ready to do cam towers, but then we got busy, and he got promoted (if thats what you want to call it), so he doesnt have the time.

If I still had a ld9 I'd deffinitely be interested. Hell if there was a "quick" install like this I might even consider buying a Z and putting a m45 on it for a nice lil dd.

If you guys wanted to complete the kit, I know of a guy around here who would be willing to work something out for welding the pans...and for drilling the oil galley for the feed on the block, it would be more accurate if it was set up in a machine, which this guy could do as well. He made me a set of neutral balance shafts out of mild steel for my Eco because I didn't want to spend 400 on billet....

That's another thing too, is anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the NBS that Bates sell without going to delete?
