Alright guys..I need everyone's input here.
I'm on the edge of selling my car here to purchase an engagement ring.....I'm asking for everyone's input of what i should ask for it?
I understand you'll never get out of a car what you put into it, but I'm selling it as a whole, not parting it out...i'm selling it as a SHOW CAR.

Its an amazing car you should be proud of all your hard work. Which is why you should find other ways of funding the purchase of the ring or just buy a cheaper ring for that matter. Im sure some one would give you around 7-9k for it. Best of luck and congrats on your engagment
from the normal buyer, all you can expect is what KBB says, maybe even less.
you can get more, but you have to find someone that is looking for a show car and wants your car in particular.

I'm glad for you that you found someone that you love enough to be willing to sell your car for... but just make dang sure you want to do it first.
If you found the "right" person, you could probably get close to 8K for it, or maybe 10K if you are lucky enough to find a really compulsive buyer with a thick wallet.... if you go by whats it's actually worth.... your looking at around 3 grand though maybe... you'll just have to find the right buyer. (contrary to popular belief... a modified car normally isn't worth any more than a stock one... but most people will pay more for it) I'de prob ask about $6,500 for it and see what happens if it was me.
I don't have a clue how much an engagement ring costs... but you might want to ask yourself how she will feel when she finds out you sold your car to buy a ring.. if you where to ask her... she probably wouldn't want you to do it since she probably knows how much you love your car.. just something to think about..
Plus.... if for some reason she says no... or whatever.... your car will be gone and you'll be stuck with a ring you have no use for... (not to make you worry or anything man......
)

Dude... if she's wanting a ring that's going to cost you more than 3-4K... don't do it. I spent around $3700 for both of my wife's rings, and that was enough!!!

IF she truly loved you she would stop you from selling the car for a ring. Just save up for a 2000 to 3000 dollar ring. Not worth selling your car for.

Another thing you might want to consider is the time of year you try to sell. I know I wouldn't want to spend a whole lot on a vehicle that would have to go straight into storage. Or spend a whole lot on a car that I would be driving through the snow.

I got a engagement ring you can buy...got married about a year and half ago...together for 7 years found out she was just a cheating $@*#&@. But its nice spent about 6 grand. Im gonna be getting appraised but if your interested ill email you a picture....Willing to take a pretty big hit on it.

my womans engagement ring was 350$. looks nice, small and sparkly with 3 diamonds, good enough for her. if it wasnt, too bad, lol.
i wouldnt spend more than 1k on a ring, id rather spend it on a vacation or the car, but thats just me.

I actually did the same thing,,,,well kinda. I had my SRT-4 that I purchased and fell in love with. I spent a decent amount of money on it and still wanted to do more. I got my girlfriend an engagement ring and now we're engaged. In the end, I ended up selling the SRT-4 so I could have more money for our wedding. Maybe it's just because I'm different or something. Yes, I have a job that pays well, but I figured that later on I could get another toy thats cheaper. I just started to see the SRT as a machine that could be replaced and my now fiance as something much more than any car. People told me to keep the car but in the end it was my choice, just like this is your choice. I can say honestly that even though I gave up a hobby that I love, I have never been happier. There is nothing in this world that I wouldn't give up for her (AND NO SHE DIDN'T ASK ME TO SELL THE CAR, SHE WANTED ME TO KEEP IT). So in the end, that's why I gave my car up, granted we will be compfortable with my job as well as hers, but I sold the car so I could use the money to help give us have an even better life.
