My friend has a 2.4L that came out of a Pontiac grand am. Had about 122,xxx miles on it when it threw a rod. It is pick up only $100 message me and I'll get more info for you as well as pictures.

Price drop $75 would be good for a build...
you'll get more in scrap though i share your pain in just tossing it. use the alternator to nake a generator or get a bracket made and have two alts in your/his next ride for the audio or welder or whatever
