What exactly are you wanting done? The whole 9 really doesn't tell us anything. Do you have all the parts? What parts do you have? Is this a swap or replacement? What kind of time frame are you looking at? Auto or manual? How fast do you need the car done? Most importantly how much are you looking to spend? If your hoping for a engine and trans swap for a couple hundred dollars it's not gonna happen, not by an experienced reputable mechanic anyway.
ln2 97 to a newer ln2 like 99-02with a manual trans or aeco or ld9 with manual swap electronics and clusters if need all functional

yup because i want to have something better for engine and rather have stick instead and getting rid of the car would be hard since my wife need her car and its a stick and wont let me drive it but then i am in the field if not deployed to get work done on my car and she dont want my car for the fact of i take care of it and keep it running better than she does of her car so if any one knows a mechanic to in the woodridge il area or ft riley ks area please help
for the price of cavalier's now-a-days, if you want a stick 2.4 you would be better off buying one

BTW: General costs for putting in a new motor and trans (one that came with the car) is $700-$1000 plus fluids. add in the extra "@!#$" for the other engine and you are looking at $1500-$1700 just for labor. then probably another $500-$1500 for the engine, trans, and wires
worse case...you are looking at $3k

Holy hell that was hard to read without punctuation. a long sentence. Try adding punctuation to what ever you type, and actually explain what you are wanting done. You have a 2200 and want to swap what sounds like anything, like ryan said above how much money are you wanting to spend, how much down time would be available to do the swap. You make it very difficult for people to help you when you give us that crap.
