I will be in Chicago for training and am looking for ideas/suggestions for places to go see and places to go eat. I will be in the Michigan Ave area right by the river. I will not have a car so I will be limited to walking, cabs, or trying to figure out the public transit. Mostly looking for the non-fancy and non-corporate food joints in the area (those crap hole-in-the-wall joints that have great food). I've only been to Chicago one other time and we never left Michigan Ave so I don't have much interest in just roaming up and down that road again.
I am tied up everyday until 6PM with training and looking for places to go check out, but not keep me out too late....I'm not a young pup anymore and can't stay out all night like I used to and still make it to class in the morning.
Also lunch isn't provided so looking for suggestions around the downtown Hyatt for a quick bite to eat.
Yo Jackass! I love Chicago! Wish I could transfer with my company there! You can walk down to the "Navy Pier". Pretty cool spot with some carnival rides and a bunch of Pubs underneath the pier. I know "Ditka's" is right off Michigan Ave as well. Supposed to be some good food there. I heard "Soldier Field" is good to go to and the "Aquarium" is right near there as well. Have fun man!
SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!
So far I got to hit up the Field Museum for a couple hours. Sucks that the other museums all close at 4 or 5pm, so I won't be able to get to any of them while I'm here since I am in class until 5 everyday.
