I've been informed the GLD is now bilingual... that they have the regular anouncer as well as spanish dude who anounces what was just said in spanish.... if thats the case I'm not returning to GLD

It's only for IW series as far as I know. Why would that make you not go? It helped us out TREMENDIOUSLY this weekend by allowing us to directly communicate with the spanish speaking attendees, some who ONLY speak spanish.

I strongly agree with Darkstars and Vince. I thought the first spoken language in this country was English. Why do we cater to the immigrants that only speak spanish, but when it comes to all the other immigrants, it's learn english or tough luck. Well I guess now it's learn english or spanish, seeing as most of the country is just letting this happen. It's completely disgusting to me and several other people to see the raping of this country. Why is it that we, as Americans, have to tolerate this? It is time for America to stand up for itself!!!

The only problem w/ that is the the US of A doesnt have a set national language so most of the time that argument doesnt work. I do agree w/ the whole only catering to the spanish speaking immigrants. Either way IW is a great event but ill be going to the one at 66 if they have it this year.
My girlfriend is an immigrant, her and her 2 sisters came to America (from Poland) not knowing any English and they learned it and use it. Thats how it should be. If your gonna come live here in our country there is no reason we should have to cater out lifestyle to you. Just because someone doesn't want to learn English doesn't mean I should have to listen to Spanish everywhere I go, or press one for English when calling the phone company for example, or even selecting English on "First American" banks ATM. @!#$ that if you can't comprehend or learn to speak the the American language get the @!#$ out, those people should have absolutely no effect on my daily life but they do, and its more and more everyday. It started with fast food not being able to figure out what the hell the employee is saying. Last Saturday I was at Mc Donald's drive through and I got 15 breakfast sandwiches (My day to supply our Saturday crew breakfast at work) I pay with my credit/debit card an they tell me to go to the next window. I pull up to the next window and after a few minuets this Mexican girl is standing there staring at me waiting for me to look so she can get my attention. She looks at me and says "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh number" I gave her a weird look again number, I said what number, she start looking around and again number, she starts getting all fidgety kinda pacing saying number and pointing to the food listed on the receipt. So I take the receipt and look and there is the 15 sandwiches on there, so I give the receipt back and say its right. Still stand there over and over saying number. Finally a manager sees this walks over and says "can you sign the receipt, you need to sign if the total is over XX dollars". Thats where it started so as pathetic as it is you don' expect people working in fast food to be able to communicate simple things. Hell if she would have handed me the receipt and a pen I would have known what she wanted. But its one thing after another. I just switched cell phone companys so I was just at a few store recently. They have people in the store that stand there and only help out the Spanish speakers, there are full duplicate displays in Spanish, etc.. Like I said you call anywhere and you have to press 1 for English.... its what we speak I should not have to press another ever to be able to speak the American language. And the GLD thing that just pissed me off. Its @!#$ middle of nowhere Wisconsin.... I refuse to pay money to drive an hour or so to corn fields in Wisconsin and listen to everything broadcast in Spanish. @!#$ that. And official language or not 20 years ago you were hard pressed to find anyone who spoke anything but English, weather its official on paper on not out language is English.

and what language are street signs in? most college text books? speeding tickets? court papers, car dealerships, car magazines, car parts stores. I grew up speaking english, or american, whatever you want to call it, they grew up speaking spanish, understandable. if i go to mexico, i have to learn spanish, if they leap the border to here, they should learn english. if they are here legally, then so be it. learn to speak our language. i bought a damn butterfinger in Indiana and everything in english was in spanish, FKUC that. i know what it is, if they dont, learn english and read it. everywhere i go ill just speak english or american and see how confused they get.

And this is exactly why all the spanish stuff is tolerated. Too many people have just said oh well, and acted like there's not a problem. This doesn't just apply to racing. This is everything. How are you going to feel when your kids are in school and are forced to learn spanish, not because they choose to, but because the classes are being taught in spanish. I know that's an extreme, but it's already happening in Harvard, IL. There are spanish speaking teachers catering to the spanish only speaking kids, not trying to teach them english, but teaching them the same curiculum in spanish that is being taught in english. If you don't see an obvious problem with this, then you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

xls2004 is right... technically America wasn't american till Europe discovered it, inhabitied it and named it America... When it officially became a country with a government running it Engligh was the language and it has been ever since.
