A day when lots of people from the .org go to a drag strip in the chicagoland area to run there cars? I don't mean rent out the strip for just the org, but it would be cool to go to a strip and see lots of you guys run your cars!!

I've never heard of one. Why bother, we'd all be running like 14's or slower for the most part., lol. We did have a dyno day last fall tho. Only about 6-7 Cavalier showed up tho.
Even if you only run 14-16 second 1/4 miles its still fun to drive down the track. This summer I will be going on my own and all I have is a WAI and a Sound system.

well heres my advice,
when summer comes pick a day plenty in advance and post it up inviting everyone to come out. basically like a meet at the dragstrip.

I think I remember a small meet like that two or so years ago, If I remember it wasn't that big of a success = test and tune TUESDAY and $$ not positive though. I'd go but most likley would'nt pass the tech line.

Tuesday, huh?? I do remember that now :doh: I had work, so I didn't go. I think that was the only local meet in 04 that I didn't make it to, aside from J-Bash.
when the mfba, midwest fbody rents the track i tag along since my dad is a member and i get to run my car all i want to with no problems. some reasons people fail tech, door handles, must have them. thats the main things that get people.
^ Forgot about the handles :doh: I might be shaved by summer, depends when I finally buy a welder. We'll see tho. As for my other project, it will probably only be bench-racing

Back in the day with when the other chi-town and wisc j's used to get together we would all have a day at the track there were about 10-12 of us that went then a few times we would head back to my place and cookout usally on a sun. Thinking about doing something like that again this year just not sure when.

If I did go to the track, I'd just go to see people but I wouldn't run. No real point if you don't have that much performance.

Ryan didn't have a blow down tube when we went up to GLD last year, went right through.
If your worried about tech we could go to byron ds both times i went they didn't do a single thing. But aI would be down to go with a bunch of you guys this summer I should have my new motor in minus turbo by then....keep us updated
yeah the day we went sucked ass.... its was 80+ degrees at night and so hummid the cars were fogging up in the staging lanes, and on top of that it was highschool night where the kids race cops so lots of newbs driving through the water box dripping water all over the start of the track. Waste of time and money that day
