ATTENTION:All J-Body Racers

The IMSM Racing Series presented by the Illinois Midwest Street Machines and Team Simply X-treme will be entering its second season of racing in 2006. This grassroots drag racing series is geared to anyone and everyone who has a passion for drag racing. We offer 7 different classes so everyone can compete from your high HP entries to you bone stock off the show room floor cars and or trucks. Our slogan is simple and to the point “if you build it, you can race it” and in 2006 that is what we want you to do.

As stated before we offer 7 different types of classes from heads up to bracket racing. Last year we only offered 3 classes but with the feedback we got from racers and outsiders we are adding 4 new classes that should appeal to all. Our points system is very simple; you receive 100 points for completing 1 round of time runs before eliminations. This allows you to even if you car breaks during time runs to accumulate some points. After time runs or better known as qualifying eliminations will start, each round a driver advances to they will earn 10 points. With the current points system in place this allows for some very close points chasses and some interesting racing. Last year in our Street Fighter class witch is our entry level class the championship could have been won by the top 7 drivers in points with only 10 points separating each position. At the final race of the season 4 drivers had to go through a shootout to determine the champion and runner up along with the third and fourth place drivers having a shootout for the third and fourth spot. We hope to have a great turn out next year and we hope that those who read this will give this series a chance.

The series is new and in 2006 we hope to have sponsors who are willing to hand out some money and product for placing in your respective classes. As with any series we are open to all suggestions and or comments you may have. We want feedback to make this series work for those people who cannot afford the money to race on a national level. We are going to try and get 6 races for next year with a possibility of a 7th race for the top finishers to have a shootout at the end of the season. All races are scheduled to be run at Byron Drag Way in Byron Illinois with the possibility of a Great Lakes Series if talks with the track are successful.

In a couple of months we are planning on having an Awards/Registration banquet for last years racers and register new racers for the 2006 season. We will keep you updated on the date, time, and location of this event.

In the mean time here is the run down of the current classes that we plan of doing in 2006.
