Questiion for those in IL

I went to Minneapolis, MN this summer and had to drive through IL.

Anyways at the gazillion toll roads they had, there was also this thing EZpass.

What exactly is that?

How much does it cost?

thanks

Its called IPASS and i can send you the research paper i did on it

Or not...

Its just a transponder that automatically takes the toll out if you are on the interstate. Plus it keeps the same tolls as before the toll hike. For instance, in dekalb i think its 1.90 now. If you have i pass it is only 90 cents i beelieve. It cost 50 bucks to get started. 10 activation fee and 40 to use for the tolls. Its very handy and convenient. Check out the ipass website at, www.illinoistollway.com/ then click i pass.

The toll roads are a rip off.....That IPASS is basically a pre-paid card so you don't have to stop at all of the booths.....And i think you get to pay the old rates rather then the jacked up toll rates.

yeah i think it is a scam to pay $1.00 + every 2 miles for crappy and congested roads (mainly are congested because of all the stopped traffic getting through the toll booths)

I try to take as many back roads as i can just to get aground the highway raquet they got going on.

Why do Illinoisans have to pay all this money in tolls and people in wis. and mich and all these other states don't have to pay crap and their roads are just as nice...even nicer???

Sorry that was just my toll ventin

I'd love it if I could take side roads lol. It takes me about 40 mins on the tollway to get to Orland Park (where most of the Chi-Town J's are at) but that same drive on local streets is about 2 hours - I know b/c I did it haha.

^^^^

Michigans roads rank like 3rd worst in the nation, or maybe 2nd. They are really bad here.
