Does anyone sell a premade downpipe in 2.25" (header to cat) for ecotec cavaliers? It would be nice to have something that was mostly drop in, muffler shops around here won't touch aftermarket stuff from the calls I've made.
MES (mandrel exhaust systems) makes downpipes for ecotec cavaliers. They bolt to the stock manifold and then to whatever cat-back (stock or otherwise). I have their 2.5" downpipe attached to an OEM LSJ exhaust manifold. Quality and fitment were pretty good.
That is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks man. The last of the things I need to bolt the charger on should be coming in soon.
Get italian joe off css to port a lsj stock header.
Then get Mes to make you a 2.5" downpipe.
Already ordered from Mandrel!
For cat back I'm probably going to scavenge some CSS parts though.
If your going that route the factory lsj manifold is a 2.5 collector and stock l61 is slightly smaller than 2. stock l61 up top and Lsj on the bottom.
Annnnd ebay.....
Got one on the way, 50 shipped. Not to bad.
What is the benefit of a LSJ manifold over an aftermarket longtube header such as Pacesetter? Aiming for mid range power?

Probably a bit more mid and low range over the better high RPM performance of an actual header.

And Cost. Cost is a good one.
The sc guys say its a good alternative if ported to a shorty header. Which apparently gives decent gains.
Thanks for the info guys. Guess my N/A self will stick with the idea of a full longtube since I think my mid-range is satisfying for now.

On my daily driver I would rather have more low end and mid range anyway. Also, at 1/6 the cost I thought them attractive. Maybe I'll even spend some time with the grinder...
