I have a 2004 2.2 ecotec cavalier. I have stage 1 comp cams to put in, I would like to know what needs to be done to do this right. I don't want to chance anything and do it right, any suggestions?
The only thing that you NEED is aftermarket valvesprings. You dont need a retune, but it will help maximize the gain.
In addition to springs (I'd recommend Supertech 78lb springs, best bang for the buck and will support most any future cams you want to run), I would also replace the timing chain tensioner while you're working in that general vicinity...the old design that came on our cars is known for premature failure, and has since been replaced with a revised version).
