I tore apart an extra 2.4 ICM, and hacked it up to use it as a connector, so i can use the 2200 ICM and coils without hacking my wiring harness on my car. I cut it up very carefully, but all i see is 6 prongs, but the plug in has 8. I used a test light on each one, and heres what ones lit up with which ones on the other side:
Should i just run 1 wire over from 2,3,4 and splice it into the 3 corresponding ones to the 2200 ICM wiring harness? I'm just not sure if thats a ground, or what.

I soldered everything up. going to finish painting my coils red, and giving it a try. hope it doesn't mess anything up if those 3 wires did matter.

This helps immensely! Thank you!

I never did get to plug it in and try it, so im still not sure if it works yet.

Paint looks a little @!#$ty, but i didnt exactly put hours and hours of prep work into it. I havn't had the chance to make it to the car, its in storage at my folks house. but i have some wire loom around it and she's ready to go...i just hope i didnt make the wiring harness too short to reach wherever i want it to if it does work.

I know the wires match up color wise. Take a 2200 pigtail and the colors match up to the LD9 harness.

turns out, the two purple wires i had soldered backwards. good thing i double checked before i tried plugging it in...but one of the pegs came off of the old ICM connector i made...going to have to make another one, and try not to bend the other one as much.
"If I'm not back in 5 minutes...just wait longer"
New connector made. had to sacrifice another ICM. Extended wiring harness while i was at it. wish me luck.

Let us know how it goes!

Nice work. If you can, get the part number off the plug in your 2.4 wiring harness that plugs into the ICM.
It should be just an eight digit number.
I'll check into it and see if there is a Delphi male cable end housing available that may make this easier for people.

Looks like a standard connector to me.

It's an 11-position connector, but "standard" isn't a word that applies to Delphi connectors. It looks like a metripack 100 or 150 series connector, but Delphi has had literall thousands of sealed connectors over the years, with many having very minor variations, that without the part number on one of the connectors, it's a massive research project to find the right one. However, with the part number, you can usually cross reference the available mating connectors, whether they are header panels or in-line housings. It's possible they are no longer available, but I figured it's worth a shot. If people want to make adapter harnesses like this, having an in-line connector to work with would make it very easy, and very clean.
I'll look tonight.

Didn't see where there was a part number on the plug on the harness. Just has the letters for the 8 pins. But i got around to plugging it in. Took a few tries, untill i looked up the correct firing order on the coils, since mine are painted over. runs good, just need to get it all mounted.

Got bored at work it's a 150.2 series metro-pack 11 way f pull to seat connector hope that helps it would be nice to find one to make this swap cleaner
I can not find 150.2 metro-pack 11 way in any of my terminal books...
