lol. Seriously though, on a 5-speed there's probably only 2 sensors on the transmission; VSS and reverse.

The VSS is tied to the ECM. The ECM converts the signal for the gauge in the cluster and sends that signal via another wire. On the pre-00 cars there's a wire running into the C100 block at the firewall for the speedometer, not sure about the 00+ cars, but I think it's the same.
