Will the same header for a 2200 bolt up to a 97 ln2?
Never thought of that. Yes or no would have required less effort than typing "Search!!!!!". Good job dude you shown me,
INDEPENDECE RULES!
Obviously your a newb, a simple yes or no, is follwed by 20 questions, all of which are already answered on this forum.
So .....?
Search!
Thanks
Not a NOOB by far I asked a question and expected someone would help someone else out.
Thank you Vinny. That's all I needed to know.
The headers are not the same!
Close but not the same. The heads are slightly different so it will not work.
To answer the OP's question, they will bolt up.
They will also block off part of the ports so you actually hinder performance.
Like said above. Bolt pattern is the same but the port location is NOT. I think the 2200 ports are higher than the earlier 2.2. But I could have that backwards.
"In Oldskool we trust"
Unless the primary of the header in-question is 1-7/8", then one meant for an earlier engine won't work properly with a later one... And vice-versa. The ports on the later head are smaller, have a higher floor & also located (centered) at a different height. This makes for nightmares for header manufacturers, as-well for header buyers no in the know. My advice: Look for a header with primaries the size I mentioned, and go with that.
Don't even get me started on the whole intake-manifold debacle....
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
