Im looking to get a new engine for my cavalier anybody have any sugestions on which engine I should use I want to have horsepower and preferably not a 4 cylinder
Or should I just get the same engine and just rebuild it with all aftermarket performance parts
Well I would go with a supercharged LS9. If you don't want to do all that then a 3400 or 3500.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
yea id also go LS9 if youve got 30,000 kickin around.
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
ditch the 2.2 LN2 2200 for an L61 2.2 Ecotec or an LD9 2.4 Twin Cam or go 3400...
The search feature has plenty of info for all of these swaps

If you're dead set against a 4 banger, a 3400 should be a pretty easy swap from your 2200. I don't understand the bad stigma with a 4 pot though. Most of the big HP numbers on here are made with ecotecs and twin cams. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 60* V6 cavaliers, and they're a lot of fun, but if you want to make big HP, a turbo 4 cylinder will generally do better in these cars.

Not wanting a 4 cyl is generally based on inexperience.
Hmmmmm not a 4cyl, If you want to be an oddball put a flathead in it or an old 307sbc haha
bang for the buck think lsj have one in my 02 its turboed and lots of fun
keep it, stock as a DD. get a F body or something else that can go sideways.
More fun.
