I have the option of getting 9:1s now or 10:1 pistons in a month both are new. I want more power from the motor. But is the higher compression worth the wait for the increase in HP?
honestly you probably wouldnt gain much from that little of ratio difference.
id say wait though. if you want the most power id go with the higher compression.
take your time... i dont know why some get so into getting stuff built fast and right away. thats when mistakes happen.

Im not trying to rush. I mean its going to be .020 over-bored. I want to boost in the future and I'm going to be spraying low as soon as its broken in. Will 9:1 be better for my situation and plans. And will it being over-bored add anything to the n/a power aspect? I don't want to kill the boost plans with high c/r but i want it to be a solid motor with as much if not a wee bit more power then what it had back in 96.

If your going to boost it later on I'd look into a lower CR piston, if you spray it I'd go with the 10:1 pistons, make sure you have a nice set of rings, ive been out of the j-body scene for awhile so idk if they do or not but if they make a cam that works well with nitrous I'd look into that.. Good luck with the build
99z for 2015.. I'm back bitches
Thanks for the info. I'm just going to go 9:1 at .020.
