Ok so I finally got everything together to build my 97.Last weekend We threw it together.Had a couple issues.The build consisted of stock block was running before build,new rings, bearings,Timing set,m98 oil pump,gaskets,Decked .30 head 1mm oversized valves ,6500 rpm springs,mild pnp,stage 2 cam from IPP. I also did a lot more ,documented w/ pics hopefully will write up progress thread soon. Problem I'm having is the fuel pressure isn't consistent. The engine wants to stall out at idle, and when driving it feel spongy like its starving.Not sure if its just fuel or because of timing with the new cam.Any help or insight would be much appreicated.
Not yet was hoping to get by for a couple of months without tune.Just paid off build. I was under the impression the car might run rich not lean and that the ECU could compensate for most of this??
Anyone running this or simular set up?Anyone have any insight?would anyone be able to tell me what this does to my compression ratio.......
I've degree'd mine in. They are spot on. You changed too many variables to just be guessing what's wrong at this point. You need to check everything with gauges and get it tuned ASAP. If you need to drive it you'll probably be okay but I wouldn't be giving it much throttle just yet. You may have an issue with the valve job if the engine is under powered
Not really worried about driving it much,just trying to get it dialed in as good as can be before tuning.Engine feels solid no loss of power just trying to find out if somone had gone through something simular.To my knowlege having it run like crap and tuning it will yeild nothing, but may fix problem. I'm just tryin to stretch my dollars like everyone else,and do work as well as I can.
I'm working on a Ln2 myself till this winter, by chance can you post or PM me the sites you used to get some of these parts? I'm having no luck finding parts for the 2.2, wish I still had my LD9, seemed alot easier back then...
