No... you cannot swap PCMs without swapping a bunch of other stuff...

No 99 z24 had EGR.

A 00-02 ecm will work on a 00. You'll have to do the relearn, and need to be an auto if auto or manual if manual. For plug-n-play...

99 PCMs can be reprogrammed to 00-02 though. They are the same PCM with completely different tunes

I was able to run an Auto PCM from a 2000 Z24 in my 2000 Z24 Manual... i just turned the auto codes off. However, you cannot do that the other way around... a Manual PCM will not work in an Auto.... Just keep looking on ebay,... i found my 2000 PCM for like 30 bucks... Plugged it in, put my stock injectors in, did the theft lock procedure, started the car, performed the crank reteach procedure, and the car ran... then i put my LSJ injectors back in and reloaded my tune on to it... Its been over a year without an issue.

You need to do it three complete times and EXACTLY like the procedure says. It is probably only partially doing the relearn.

since it starts after the first time do i just turn the key to the on position the second round and not try and start it
Re: ld9 ecm

this is how ive been doing it and in step 2 it says attempt to start but after the first time i go threw this it starts

. Turn ON the igniton, with the engine OFF.

2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).

3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, it will be flashing. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.

4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords, on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.

IMPORTANT: The vehicle learns the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You MUST turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.

7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will clear themselves after 100 ignition cycles

Little late to the party but I did the relearn 3 times without attempting to start the car and its been fine.

Turn the key to the on position but not far enough to engage the starter each time.
