If your looking to increase horsepower by a little bit?just do the basic i/h/e and tune?
Or you can take the high road and just boost it?

It is cheaper to hit 200+whp with boost than trying to do it N/A. Saying no to boost is is really hurting you.

do you have a power goal in mind? there are a lot of basic mods to do to your car to help with suspension (supporting mods) that will make your bolt on mods go further.
like said, better intake, headers and exhaust, will be the best. you really cant get much hp increase without boost or upgrading your internals on a 4cylinder.

i think you can find someone like section8cav or others that run just n/a. he's running some impressive numbers without boost, but i believe he went internal.

I've got a feeling you've got more rules than that.

Port and polish the head. full exhaust (header back). Comp makes good cams for the ecotec. Short ram intake. And a good tune. Suspension would do a better spring strut tower braces and anti roll bars. Progress makes some good anti roll bars.

for 2k and a decent driver behind the wheel you're looking at a pretty quick car with boost. AND you can safely run this setup on stock internals. If i were you (completely stock) then i'd definitely give this route some thought.

The only way that system could get better is if it had an external wastegate. But he stated that he cant run boost. Internal would be the way to go. Has anyone herd of using a copper headgasget to lower the comp. ratio to pull more boost?

What? You can use a thinner head gasket to increase compression ratio to make more power, but not much more.

We need the op to tell us exactly what the RULES are in his RACING SERIES. And then he should most likely post it in the racing section because all the other guys that do circle track with a similar rule book would be there.

No. you can use a thicker copper head gasket to bring compression down a bit to pull more lbs. The guys from gm did it with an 04 cav I believe it was. If you dnt believe me go read the article in modified mag.
