After deciding over a month ago to get a Borla ProXS muffler for my car, I have finally gotten it installed and let me just say. I @!#$ LOVE IT! It's exactly what I imagined, and exactly what I wanted, and I took a slight risk and the word from others and bought it. There are almost no videos on Youtube of a Cavalier Z24 with a Borla ProXS muffler on it, so I decided to make one of my own:
Exactly what I wanted. Smooth, deep tone that gives a nice bass sound to the rather growling, angry sound of my AEM Intake. Couldn't be happier.
I'm sure the cold and warm start ups and revs are better in person, but it sounds great. I'm glad it worked out well for you. Especially since I was one of the ones pushing you in this direction

Yeah, you know how it is. These handhelds don't have the microphone to pick up deep, low-frequency sounds. Sounds much more present and deep in person, but I figured I'd give it a shot. The revs are crackly but never crackle when upshifting or downshifting so I'm not sure why they do at idle a little but whatever haha. Thanks for the advice by the way, I really love how it sounds, all my friends like it too. Maybe even convinced them to question their decision to not get a Borla of their own.
Ill have to watch it when I get home, but I've been torn on borla or magnaflow for my vert, I have magnaflow on my 03 coupe and it sounds great, hopefully your vid will help me decide

I hope it helped your decision. The video doesn't fully give the sound that you hear in person, I guess the microphone on my handheld camera isn't too great (kind of expected). I loooove how it sounds though, as do all my friends. No complaints from girls either (usually, from my experience, they hate loud exhausts while sitting in the car).
yeah it really helped, i like it, but im still torn between magnaflow or borla lol
I'll post a video with my Borla XS muffler on my 98 Grand Am with the LD9 motor. I have the secret WeaponR intake and RKsport extension piece w/ KandN filter, Helix Power Tower Plus throttle body spacer, AC delete pulley, AEM Alternator pulley, CustomCarGrillz 11 ounced crank pulley, Pacesetter 4-1 header, 2.25 inch exhaust with 32.5 inch cherry bomb with the Borla XS out the back. Sounds amazing except the few exhaust leaks but oh well
yup i'll stick with my vibrant setup lol

The forum was for ld9s not gaytecs.
actually this forum is for j-bodies, not grand ams...
Yeah, well is Thread/Post is for Quad 4s and Twincams... Not ecotecs.
i fail to see the issue... borla pro xs is the muffler i ran and posted a video of and the ls sport with the eco was sold in Canada as a z24
what a Z24 is the LD9....
in Canada, 02+ ls sports were sold as z24's

forum (website) -> child forum -> thread -> post
what you are calling a "forum" is actually a thread.
this forum (www.J-body.org) is for J-Bodies, which does not include grand ams (that is the N-Body).
the child forum is Performance, which pertains to any engine in a J-body.
