So I'm in the middle of a top end rebuild on my 97 2.2L and figured since I have the entire top half on my engine out, I'd reorganize the bay a bit. What I noticed is that once the engine is all 1 peice, there's no access to the coil packs behind the engine, even from below in my case. I wanna know from my fellow JBOwners is should I relocate it, and where?

Make a plate, and mount it to the strut tower. Looks best there imo
Personally, I wish someone made a plug-in harness extension... I've had two LN2'd S-truck in my life ('94 & '99) and both generations of engines have the assembly located in the god-awful position as on older J-cars. I feel this leaves it exposed unnecessarily to moisture from slashing & spray from the roadway, and that just leads to arcing & misfires. Plus, the plug-wires end-up needing to be ungodly long... And I know that effects ignition performance.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
AMEN!!!! I really don't feel like splicing...
Oh and I'm taking the lazy way... not taking the old one off the back, just taking the one out of my 2200 and mounting it. The old one will stay on the back of the engine like a benign tumor. I decided to mount it either under my fuse block on the driver side, or next to my AC condenser (firewall) on the passenger side.
