I sure hope you have some struts to go with those springs.

mounts, I/H/E, all together will add MAYBE 5 hp at the wheels. shift plus will just make it shift harder.

you ordered a bunch of parts and now you want input?

always a good idea to include struts to go with springs. do it right the 1st time and do it once.
my guess is 16.3@ 85 mph in the 1/4

ugh i was hoping for some support guys!! lol i dont need lectured on springs as i know i should replace the struts but this will be the 4th car i have lowered on the stock struts and ive had no issues with ride or my safety so maybe one of these days ill save up and get them later. im pretty confident ill be running faster then 16s as there are several posts in the racing section with stock autos runing 15.8 and 15.9??? are they full of it?

My husband ran 15.2 in a manual '01 2.4 with a WAI & motor mount/insert. I ran 15.9 in an auto '99 2.4 with a WAI. Not stock, but close.

Don't let the above discourage you, you bought all supporting parts. They will give your car a different feel and will help more when you add mods like cams, a ported head, etc. With a tune they would do more for a stock engine. Mounts will help your 60ft times and the B&M shift plus will at least make the car appear quicker to your butt dyno and in theory a harder quicker shift shaves some time off. Lowering the car can help but if you do it with stock struts they WILL blow and give you a terrible ride. Depending on your engine the I/H/E will help but will do more with a tune.

where did u get your tune? or do u have a custom tune? and i appreciate the help btw. i just love being a cavalier owner that gets hated on a forum for cavaliers lol i kind of expected a warm welcome! i was hoping these mods would get me into low 15's....is that unreasonable?

No problem, people around here are quick to attack you will see. Most of us use HPtuners to tune our cars and you basically have to do a custom tune with that software using a wideband. If you have a manual trans and either an Eco or a twincam you can probably see mid to low 15s depending on your driving skills and how many options the car has(wieght)

ive got a 2.4 auto and i planned on getting a wideband anyway so im going to start looking into hptuners then. if im not satisfied with the mods ill spart piecing together a turbo kit!!

Just because someone else did it, doesn't mean that you will automatically do it as well. You wanted an honest opinion, you got an honest opinion. Thanks for filling out your profile too that way people could see more than 2.4 auto.

to the OP your looking at about a mid 15s to a mid 16s, first off being lowered will not help without being proper (cause more damage then you think), being an auto doesn't help you much either. intake and exhaust maybe (if lucky) 5-7 hp.....stereo wont help you any, mounts all the way around MAY help a bit, but you don't have any horsepower, dude your stock....stock=slow. these guys do tend to know their stuff, and yes my quarter times speak for themselves and my experience around cars is enough. as most of us are tired of being asked same questions over and over click search your "parts list" has been there done that and answered a million times. Amber corner lens wont help you either so you spent all that money for an extra 5-7 HP so your now sitting at MAYBE 145-147hp, on a stock weight car, therefore still slow

well thought id update and let everyone know i ended up running a 15.83 @ 87mph with just my springs and upper motor mount insert (still need to buy lower mount) and it was about 80 degrees outside. i just installed my intake and shift plus and i ditched my @!#$ty ebay springs and installed tein s-techs (won bid for brand new ones on ebay for 60.00 shipped!!) and new bearing plates as the old ones fell apart. i plan on doing some simple weight reduction and getting the header and exhaust system on and going back to see how i do. im also saving for an eibach sway bar and a dc or ractive strut bar and then im going to have to take a break on performance and suspension and get going on fixing up the body and interior. i might be setting myself up a turbo kit on the side though so i guess we will just have to see

high 16's?! my ln2 sunfire with intake, header, and muffler ran a 16.3 with a bad clutch. well i came back to update again and im pumped!!! i got my lower mount installed, 4-1 header on with full 2.5 in piping with cat delete and magnaflow muffler and tip, and removed my spare tire and jack etc to run again and i ran a 15.26 at 89mph!! was about 70 degrees out. the header and exhaust really helped out my top end as i can tell it no longer falls on its face at higher rpms. i also can now do a good sized 2nd gear scratch with the shift plus and the other mods and i love it lol im converting it to the ln2 style icm with msd coils and wires and maybe get some fuel upgrades and lighter wheels to see if i cant hit 14's. a local tuner shop just got a dyno and is getting hp tuners so im going to have it tuned as well. i took the time today to undercoat the whole car and pulled out the trunk liner and spare and undercoated inside the trunk and sprayed the wheels wells and the whole car is so much quieter....def worth 50 bucks and a few hours.

soooo current mod list is
WAI
4-1 header
full 2.5 exhaust with magnaflow muffler and cat delete
upper and lower poly mounts
b&m shift plus
tein s-tech springs (truly believe this improved launch)
also had original spark plugs and boots so replaced those and it smoothed out the idle and acceleration

ill try to get some up this evening. im not very good at getting pics on the internet. why so hard to believe? there is are 5 speed ld9s on here with intake a performance clutchs running 15.2. i think alot of it depends on the climate u live in becuase as listed above some guys are running mid to low 15's all day and some ld9s are running nearly 17's. i do have my time slips so ill try to get some up tonight. this was my best time i ran beating a 2011 ram 1500 4x4 with 5.7, mopar intake, and borla exhaust.

5-Speeds are faster than Autos stock for stock. Also your 97 also is probably high mileage by now.

Also, many auto LD9s, including myself, have a hard time beating 15.5 with A LOT more mods. If you did go 15.2 your the fastest auto N/A LD9 on the org. This is what is hard to believe.
