I keep getting a iat high voltage code on my car. I thought it was the sensor so I went and bought a new one and put in the car. Its still throwing the code. Wondering if anyone had any ideas why it might be throwing this code? The car is turboed with a front mount intercooler.

1 - could be a broken wire
2 - air charge could be too hot

I'm going to go with IAT being to hot, but would also grab the multimeter and verify reading and the PCM.

How can I get it so it wont read so hot if it is that. Ive thought about a wire being broken or messed up SHOoff, but work all weekend so I haven't got a chance to check it yet.

I just can't see a broken wire giving a high voltage signal, where is the IAT located?

I would check the resistance between each of the wires at the sensor and the ecu plug (I believe that each of the two goes back to the ecu if I remember correctly). Should be less than one ohm. Also check the wire for rub through, maybe causing short.

It is in the intercooler piping about 12 inch before the throttle body.

Maybe the intake charge just really is too hot.

You say that, til you have a broken wire or wires on the IAT sensor.

I might go out and mess around with it tonight and try to figure it out. If I do ill let you guys know what I figure out.

Went out and played around with the car. one of the wires to the iat sensor was broken. Fixed it and the code went away.
