Why LSJ Alternator

Just wondering if anyone can explain why I would use an LSJ alternator on my L61?
Are there performance upgrades or estetics?
Also, how do they swap in?

you wouldnt its only recomended if you add the gm supercharger, cause the alternator spins backwards.

so if you installed it n/a it would spin the wrong way.
Many people just add it when doing the supercharger swap, but its not necessary.

You use it in junction with the MP62 Super charger. If you use your L61 alternator with the MP62 kit it will be spinning backwards. Also, the LSJ alternator has a clutch to help keep more tension on the supercharger pulley.

It is also 6 ribs like the MP62 is. The L61 system is 5 ribs.

And as far as installation, it's bolt on. Swap l61 alt off and the lsj on.
