Well, I got the cosmo racing intake for Christmas and decided to install it late at night a few days ago. No matter how I adjusted it, the hood was hitting the elbow and wouldn't close. I was getting really pissed off and called it quits that night figuring maybe I was just tired and I would have better luck in the morning. Morning came, same problem, in order to clear the throttle body bracket, elbow was a bit high and the hood wouldn't close. Tried going as low as I could but it wasn't low enough.
So, out comes the cordless reciprocating saw with a metal blade and I chop half the bracket off. Once part of the bracket was gone, intake fit perfect with nothing touching the hood at all. Holy sh*thole, what a relief.
I just checked the board to see if anyone has done the same, Nope, I'm 1 of 1 chopping of the throttle body bracket,
Sweeet. lol

I did it too 5 years ago with a z24 Aem warm air intake.
My Cosmo intake for my Corolla had a bracket that mounted near the battery tray, but it wasn't bent right, so I had to make a bracket extender out of an old file. Sprayed it black and nobody ever noticed it.

Cool, Cool. I thought it was weird that so many people have installed the intake without cutting the bracket, my hood was no where near closing with it there. For those having fitment issues, cutting the throttle body bracket works great.
