ive had a spec stage 2 clutch and a new slave cylinder in for about 4 monthes and for almost a yr my clutch pedal feels like im standing on air?? it comes back up so it doesnt stick to the floor. but its not a normal clutch pedal feel with good resistance ya know>?? can anyone tell me what might be the problem??
Problem? You bought Spec. I have looked at a lot of spec clutches before they went in, they're just designed to be as cheap as possible.

Spec stage 2 does feel as light as OEM, maybe softer. I don't mind that as it holds very well. Been running it for 2 years now with NO problems. I don't think it is a problem but others have said it's poor quality. I'm driving it until it breaks.

I have a spec stage 2+ and it feels about the same as stock a little bit weaker but it definitely grabs better then my factory one.
Bad slave cylinder, air in system perhaps?
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
brand new slave and master as of three days ago. we bled it over and over again. replaced the master cylinder gasket on the resivior and cleaned out the resy. my master cylinder when i pulled it out was spitting black fluid... really dirty brake fluid. its gotten better and the grab point is now consistant, still grabs hard. but the pedal still isnt as resistant as it used to be.
As stated before...You bought a Spec clutch. You have taken steps to improve the shortcomings but from what i hear you will never get it to have the same pedal pressure as stock. Most people on this forum curse upon Spec clutches for our applications. I've heard everything from inconsistent engagement point to poor pedal feel to premature failure. I know they are a very repitable company but from what i hear they just dont work well for us.
It beats a Honda!

Its not just us that they dont work good for, maybe they're ok for honda but nothing that makes torque in noticeable quantities. Most that fail I've seen have been the springs on the friction plate (or spacers if its an un-sprung clutch, yes they just stick spacers in for springs in their un-sprung clutches) just pop out because they just bend the metal to from tabs where the springs seat. Rather than a good clutch where the metal of the friction disk is thick enough that it doesnt need the bend the metal to have enough meat for the spring seat.
