MSD sells the coil interface pn #8870 for the 2200 ln2. Is there any gain or reason to put these on... I don't see their purpose. Can someone please explain why these are avalible. Also is there any gain on putting the MSD coils on? I used to have a set and one had a terminal for the coil wire kept getting rusted up, After a few times of cleaning it the tower to the terminal cracked. I felt no different power when i switched back to stock coils. Thanks for any input.
you need to run the coil interface modules when using an MSD igniion box (ex. DIS-2) on that style coil GM vehicle.
You arent going to notice any difference running the MSD coils.
Donīt know about the 2.2 but in the case of the 2.4 the MSD coils and interface allows us to get rid of the coil cover (which is crap and fails very often) and also to relocate the coils and get them out of the heat of the engine. I am glad MSD has this alternative and hope my order from Jegs gets to me soon.
