How are you guys, I been checking many topics and just been looking around for ideas. I have a 2.2 ecotec stock. I have a little project not too crazy. All I am looking for is for 160-170 Hp/Tq. I wanted to know what are some of the mods I can do to achieve this goal. Throw me hints and ideas and I have some questions during this process:
Exhaust diameter should I put a 2.25 or 2.5, what type of header should I put, TTR upper and lower mounts or RK Sport, a custom intake or any particular brand, what else can I add to achieve my goal?

I'm in the same boat as you hoping to get in the 160/170 range. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can weigh in here but as of right now Im thinking something along these lines
K&N intake
Pacesetter header
downpipe with highflowcat
Catback
upper engine mount
lower engine mount
lightweight crank pulley
Lightweight alt pulley

Hopefully that will help! Also there is a sticky with a pretty comprehensive ecotec build guide here some of the links are now dead but it helped me get an idea of what I should upgrade.

Depends on how much money your looking to spend. Cams are a fairly easy project in the eco and even a stage one cam could give you some decent gains, in conjunction with bolt ons.


horsepower is the force that determines at what speed you hit the wall, torque is the force that determines how far you take the wall with you after you hit it.

Nitrous and you have it whenever you want it.

ive got a pacesetter header, 2.5in exhaust high flow cat 3 in glasspack y piped to 2 4.5 in tips. loud and has a very not so rice sound to it. and with motor mounts trans mounts c.a.i i was told i should be around 170hp. but never dynoed. i have however used my dyno app on my droid it estimated 174.5hp.

Any decent header, 2.5" exhaust, high flow catalytic converter, 2.4 VVT EcoTec intake manifold, light weight flywheel, any light weight crank pulley that's NOT Rksport, any decent intake pipe with a good filter, larger injectors, stage 2 comp cams, polyurethane engine and tranny mounts, and a really good tune. Would get you into 14's for sure if you're a decent driver, and will more than likely meet or even exceed your power goals.

my cav has 160 all I have is a pacesetter header (thats junk at least I think so) magnaflow high flow cat, magnaflow catback 2.5'', Rk sport pulley that everyone bitches about but I havent had any issues with it, AEM cold air intake not that short ram @!#$ either. thats about it for now all I can think of
