i dont know that even a 500hp 2200 would need this beast....
If it takes forever.... I will die trying. Underdog Racing
buuuut... it would work right????
Yeahhh... ITS A VORTECH!!!
I haven't measured, but at minimum I would think you would need to bore out the opening on the manifold itself to utilize all 80mm of that monstrosity. I forget where, but I heard bad things on this forum about even a 68mm on a 2200. What kind of supporting mods do you have? I get the feeling that without an aggressive port and polish it may not even be worth the money. On the other hand, it would be pretty BA. Definitely take pictures if you decide to try it out!

You do realize that the adapter they include is supposed to be welded to the intake manifold right? That would not be a problem if the 2200 manifold wasn't made out of plastic...
Also it looks like their is no provision for an IAC.
Im only puting a 75mm TB on my S/C eco. Why do you think you need a 80mm tb?
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
I do not see where it says it fits a 2200.
Per your profile you have no mods, so this would hurt you more than helping you. Also probably causing tuning issues.

Not really. If you feel you must have bigger, a stock tb bored to 56-57 mm will flow enough air for about any n/a combo you have. If your forced induction its amazing how much air you stuff thru a stock tb. A bored stocker with F/I will flow enough for some impressive power.
Just get a 2.3L 56mm TB and be done with it
That swap only uses three bolts to mount the tb. Plus you have to buy the quad4 iac motor.
So.... It's like 10 bucks at a u pick place
it says its a universal fit. which means it probably wont fit unless you modify the manifold.
just get yours bored out to whatever opening you like. but something like 80mm aint needed on a car with just bolt ons
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
just out of curiosity what do you guys recommend for a cav making about 400 hp? 62-65mm? bigger? smaller?
Well I have a 80mm TB and it worked for me he he he he
But really its a 75mm bored out 5mm so yea its an 80mm LS1 same one that my 99 chevy truck uses
let me ask you do you have a custom intake to support allmost double the air you are going to put into your engine?
let me know

A draw-through supercharger or turbocharger (i.e. no BOV) setup would benefit more from a larger throttle body than a blow-through set up...but you're still limited by the size of the Centrifigul's wheel, the Root's lobes, etc.
FWIW, I recall Todd mentioning once that the Slowfire used a 75mm TB. If Karo is still around, I'm sure he can verify that.
I have no signiture
but Karo had a built engine with a custom exaust to support the huge TB

I honestly want to say that an 80MM TB on a non boosted 4 cylinder would be hardcore overkill and a waste of fuel?????
My boosted 3800 is sporting a 75MM TB vs its stock 69mm and it certainly isn't choking. The largest they sell is a 77mm.
Guys also turbo these 3800's using the stock 69mm TB vs going to a larger TB because it just isn't needed.
The LSX V8 guys I want to say the largest TB they sport are 90mm and that's decent upgrade for a V8!
To me an 80mm just seems overkill unless there is really a need for one that size for these 4 cylinders?
