I have the whole TTR mount package, full upper replacement, lower dog bone and both 5 speed transmission mounts.
The car usually idles fairly smooth unless Im running the a/c which I know is normal.
Over the past couple days Ive noticed some extra vibrations.
My first thought was a bolt vibrated loose as Ive been running the a/c alot latey.
Everything was tight up until I came to the upper mount. It appears that the poly "bushing" is pulling out cauing the motor to sit at a slight angle. 2 metal pieces of the moun are touching which I assume is causing the extra vibrations.
I did some searching but came up with only installation issues.
Anyone have this issue?
Ive only had this mount maybe a year now, hopefully I can get TTR to replace it.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
I had the same problem. Wasn't the original owner though so no warranty. My replacement bushing was $30. It's just 1 of the transmission mount bushings.
That's what I thought, looked like they were the same size.
I am the original owner but not the purchaser so I'm not sure how the warranty would work. It's an obvious design flaw and something that they should be willing to rectify at their cost.

Maybe you'll have better luck than I did. For me it was either pay or have an expensive paper weight.
If I have to pay for a new poly insert I will take the $30 and build my self a better one.

I had this happen to my old ttr mount after about 10k miles or so, caused a sqeuaking noise like a bad strut mount but I assume it was just something else metal rubbing. I got rid of it and got an lzm mount, then went back to a ttr again which havnt had it long enough to have this problem happen.
Between the stock with poly insert, lzm with solid, rubber, and custom poly bushings Id still rather chance a TTR mount. Best overall Ive had of the three
I've been pleased with the mount over all. I had the stock mount with the insert for a whioe but didn't pike the vhibes. This one seems to be much smoother, just dont like the chance of it pulling out. I have under 10k miles on it.
I like the mount with the 2 and 3 smaller poly inserts, looks like it might end up being a little stronger.
If i made one it would probably be similar to that one.
I guess i will just have to see what happens with ttr.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
Ive seen a few horror stories about the TTR mount, so I emailed them before I made my purchase. they assured me they corrected the issue, and it shouldn't happen. So I got one.
I have about 30,000 miles on mine. Track and street, and its holding up just fine. the part that connects to the block is starting to rub into the rubber part of the mount, but it doesn't look like it will be an issue.

They will fix it as long as its within warranty I do believe. but that is only like 1 or 2 years iirc
I'll have to stop by and show you Dan, see if yours is as bad as mine.
Could always go the route pj tried and make an actual solid mount.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
Here's the situation I had with mine.
The bushing got weak or started to distort causing it to begin to compress one side toward eventual metal to metal contact.
So I decided to replace it with a stock mount with poly insert.
This is what I now have and works great. I'll never have an issue with it either so I know it's reliable.
I only had the mount about 3 years in which it was only driven on for a year.
The car's been up on jackstands for 21 months straight without the car being driven and it still went bad.
Nothing against TTR because it's a performance part and has a short warranty. I also didn't want to replace the bushing out of fear that it would happen again with another bushing.
Good luck with it though.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
I had the stock mount with the poly insert. Didn't care for the vibes that's why I bought the full mount which did make it better for a short period of time.
I have no issues with ttr, they have been great with everything I've bought from them. I will still continue to support them and purchase their products when needed.
This is just an example of why I would rather build something over buying it when possible. Chances are I will probably get the new insert either way and continue to use the mount until I get a chance to make one, then I will either put the ttr one on the shelf for future use or pass it along to a local member that could use one.

Its funny most of the problems you hear with ttr mounts is about the pc chipping or cracking or whatever, well its funny Ive had 2 and the pc on both stayed perfect. In fact my 2nd mount they did a custom gunmetal color for me for free, and still gave me the discount on a gp that had just ended. Great company to deal with and great products, just like molst parts had some design flaws.
My first ttr mount had this happen to it realy bad, the bushing had pushed soo far out that the metal was digging into metal. However, it was one from the first batch ever, which I had gotten new from a member that never used it.
Then I got the lzm which was also from the first batch, and I had already heard about rubber bushing problems soo ordered the solids which I waited months for. Ran it with the solid bushings and vibes were much worse, had some phantom knock, but I could def tell it was more soid. Then like many from the first batch I had the top plate problem which it bent a little. I made custom poly bushings from an endlink kit, was much better but I didnt like that the top plate was slightly bent and didnt wana wait months more for the newer thick top plate soo I ditched. It went to another memberwho I believe made his own thicker top plate and think he saw nice gains from it at the track.
I then put my stocker with insert back in, and I felt the vibes got better but it felt like it was a weaker mount. Plus it was kinda in the way of my charge piping a bit, soo decided to get another ttr and no problems at all for the time I had it..Only used it for less than 1k miles though before my motor went..its for sale btw
We tried to locate your account. We cannot find your order via the info in your profile. Please contact us.
Warranty will be covered if you are the original purchaser, and within 1 year of shipment.
Bushings are a wear item, just like tires, rotors, wipers, etc. They dont last forever. Lack of maintenance checks like, Vincent, shows will result in damage. You need to keep an eye on your mount, just like you check your oil, to verify everything is in good operation condition.
As it has been expressed, most all recent orders have no power coat issues. Bushings wear as we have stated. Check your prothane tranny bushings (the ones with cross drilled holes) after 1 year, they WILL need to be replaced, as they also wear. Nothing last forever.
Again you must contact us, we do not know you have an issue unless you take the first step to contact us directly, not posting in a forum, hoping we will see this.

mine had the issues all under 1 years time. I went through 3 bushings, was sent an extra thick washer to keep it from slicing the edge of the bushing off. also within that 1 year period i also tried a new top plate and what you see now is the final result. after shipping this, trying that, shipping this and that and trying that i got fed up with it and switched. no more cutting bushings, no more flex or dinging from it rubbing.
believe me, my car gets checked religiously.
Exactly, you have a 3-5 year old mount, one of the originals. If you give up, we can no longer help you, as we dont know you have an issue.
As members have stated, they have had no issues, members need to just contact us and we will be happy to help.

My understanding is that poly should outlast rubber bushings by leaps and bounds.
If these mounts/ bushings have to be replaced on a yearly note, no thanks.
Nothing against you Aaron or TTR as they've got a pretty much spotless reputation on their products.
But I just can't see spending that kind of money (I know, it's not alot from a performance stand point of view) for something that will be used hard only on occasions where most of use use their rides to do nothing but cruise.
It's all good though and I'll be buying from Aaron again when that time comes.
Again, I'm not trying to lessen TTR's products but just trying to let others know what might happen over time with these mounts.
With the little time I've had on the mount and lack of actual driving time on the engine over the last 3 years, you could see how I'm dismayed at the replacement of the mount.
I mean the car just sat there in a controlled environment and went bad just sitting there.
/my little discussion....
Thanks Aaron.

It does and it does not... Our bushings WILL out last the tranny Prothane bushings all the time, even if Prothane sits installed, they will quickly change shape/yield. Poly yields over time and wears out. The benifit is that it is much more rigid.

I gave up on my mount 4 years ago. Going back to the rk sport mount. I got tired of not being able to drive my car due to waiting on parts or the mount being so bad that it was rubbing and making noise.

Aaron,
I want you to know, as I stated in the post above, Im not trying to talk down about TTR in anyway.
I just wanted to see if I were the only one with this issue.
Unfortunately, I am not the original purchaser but I am the original user. The mount was purchased for me as a gift. That being said, I assume there is no warranty in my case which I guess is understandable.
My main concern is the longevity of the product, I had prothane motor/transmission mounts on my 450+AWHP Talon for years with not a single problem, bushings never wore out or deformed in any way. It took much more abuse than my mostly stock LD9 will ever see.
Maybe the compud of the poly isnt correct, to me the poly seems too soft, my old mounts were more "solid" as the compund felt harder.
I am not trying to tell you how to design your product. Seems there are people on both side of the spectrum having good and bad experiences.
I personally feel that a performance mount should not have to be replace annually. I havent heard of that from any other platform of cars Ive been around with their mounts.
/rant.
Let me know proce wise what you can do for me for a new insert.
BTW, I do have the TTR transmission mounts, not the drilled prothane ones.

TTR FTW.
I have products from them and will continue to purchase. (As long as I get my stickers next time
