We are already talking about the head in this thread

95 isn't TBI...
Anthony Holtzberger wrote:So I've been reading up on this and can't find a straight answer. If I swap my 95 head with a 98+ head is my compression going to raise and the only way to swap it is use the 98+ head gasket.If you put a 98+ head on a 97- block, your compression is going to drop like a rock. Head gasket needs to match year of head.
Anthony Holtzberger wrote:Or some info on what I need to have in order to use the saturn tbi injectors would be nice to.To use Saturn TBI injectors, you need to have full control over your injector pulse width (ECU) and an adjustable FPR. You may also need to beef up your injector drivers if your stock injectors are high-Z and the Saturns' are low-Z... slowolej would know for sure.

slowolej wrote:Resistance per injector is about 1.2 Ohms each, they draw huge amounts of current which required different injector drivers in my pcm. Adjustable FPR required cutting a few coils out of the spring to bring pressure at idle down to maybe 17 psi (I don't remember anymore), bringing injector flow from 52 #/hr down to more reasonable number around 42 #/hr.
91-94 Saturn S series vin 9 engine has these injectors. Also look up 95 G van w/ 454 online to find same size and flow but different color injector.
You need a way to tune your ecm / pcm to use these.

slowolej wrote:Those will fit, but there are some considerations.
1) Those are TBI injectors, which are about 1.2 Ohms each. Putting 4 of those on a batch fire ecm will proabaly kill the injector drivers.
2) As noted, they flow a bunch of fuel.
I've also modified my ecm by installing upgraded injector drivers to handle the additional current the tbi injectors use, and I've got different sense resistors so the peak and hold circuit works correctly.
-->Slow
Anthony Holtzberger wrote:yeah i've been reading up on the top feed also, but seems like it would be easy to mess up.Either of these would be easier to mess up for Joe Average. However, if you're VERY familiar with electronics and ECU tuning, Saturn injectors might be the way to go. If you're planning on running lots of boost on stock parts, and diveability isn't a major issue, the 98+ head swap might be the way to go.
Nickelin Dimer wrote:How about a link to Slow's injector thread, huh?Mike already did the hard work. Even the noobiest of newbs that you tell to "SEARCH" every day could find those threads using direct quotes...
Anthony Holtzberger wrote:So what kind of compression would I be looking at?Well, if the opposite swap yields 11.5:1, then I'd suspect you'd probably end up around 6.5:1 lol.
