Now that I got the Z on the road I'm having issues. Once it heats up it wants to take forever to idle down any time I drive it... eventually it will though. I do know i have a bad plug wire...could that make it high idle? Also I used the plugs that were in the head from a turbo build. I'm sure they are atleast 1 step colder. Idk if that would affect anything. I do plan on getting the proper plugs. Any ideas what could cause this? Also sometimes once it idles down it cuts off or feels sluggish if I try to speed up but I'm thinking that is probably the plug wire.
Hmm weird, I would suggest changing those plugs out.

do you notice that it drops back down to idle as soon as you get to 5mph or lower????

Actually now that you mention it yes!
And WHITECAVY yes I am definitely going to change the plugs.
I put on the new wires and all is well, still idles rough below 900 rpm but curious to see if the leaky header gasket has to do with that.
probably does, don't you hate putting time into a car to have somethin stupid go bad or mess up or need replaced for whatever reason, messin up your cruisin time? me too, mine just let loose on me, well the alternator went actually sux major balls
damn that does suck, Ive had that happen before.
mine idles rough below 1300 RPM but thats because of my cams. i hptuned my idle to 1000
i like the idle for sure, just cant believe they are stock 2.3 cams lol. factory must have tuned the idle high for those years.
