So I'm stumped. I've been looking at catback exhausts and they're either too expensive or discontinued. So, frustrated, I'm looking for a just a good muffler to have welded on. If I go with the muffler and still decide that a new catback should be added, then I'll do that, but for now, I'd like to focus on which muffler to get.
I like the Flowmaster, they've always sounded nice. Though there are a million different 40 series mufflers so I'm not sure which to go with. I'm open to all suggestions for other brands. I just want to find something that has the lowest tone i can find.
Thanks!

dont waste your time just throwing a muffler on cause you wont get the sound you are looking for. grab the muffler and have your local shop do your piping and everything, you will be much happier.
im rocking magnaflow and it sounds superb!
most magnaflows on a 4cyl sound like @!#$. All of my cars with them did.
V8 is a different story.
Mark, search for a used Thermal R&D cat back.

Most the Magnaflows i've seen on 4 cyls were too small.

flowmasters are one of the worst flowing mufflers, dynomax super turbo's are one of the best but give you quite the stock sound. you could buy my turbo back and be all set up if you wanted
but if you are not going for super performance, a nice chambered muffler would be good.

Thanks for the advice, man! I'm looking for something not too pricey. Any specifics that you would recommend?

well mine is 2.5" turbo back with a flex pipe right after the dp, and then its a 28" resonator, then the dynomax super turbo muffler. sounds stock as can be at idle, and then picks up noise once you get on it.
by far my favorite muffler.

I don't have a turbo back, but you can't beat that..
