Ok So I have searched and tired to figure out which is LO and which is HO. But when I look most of the pictures don't show up because the post is old and pics may have been deleted etc.
So these are what I found at the local yard.
This came off a 1991 Olds Quad 442 - Motor was a LGO with W40 heads
This off a 1989 Skylark - 2.3 Quad 4 LGO ( dunno head number )
Or here they are beside one another
I am pretty sure the one off the Skylark is the HO one but I am not sure because most I have seen that say they are HO look like the one that came off the Olds Quad 442.
the one off of the skylark is not the HO. it flows worse than the stock unit
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
the intake manifold looks like its and h.o
if it can't win a race it better win a show
The other one from the skylark is oldschool LO. The other could be an LO or HO. Hard to see from the pics. I need to see more of the plenum.
The 442 manifold should be a HO manifold. From what I remember, Pontiac was the only bastard child that received mismatching manifolds for the engine code. Besides, although it's hard to see the size of the plenum from your first set of pictures, you can tell that the runner diameter is significantly larger which means it's a HO. From the second set of pics, I can assure 100% that's a HO manifold.
BTW, you should have just bought the whole W41 (assuming it wasn't already pulled or picked apart)
I have no signiture
it was a W40 and it had some major engine issues
Only wish is was a W41 lol
I concur....I believe its an HO
