I have an automatic tranny on my 02 2.2L EcoTec Cavalier. What are some performance mods I can put on it that are cheap that will give it a little more umph. I don't want a big change like a turbo or something like that but I'm looking into a cold air intake, exhaust, and B&M ShiftPlus Improver. If there anything else I can put on it to give a little extra power. I'm not looking to make it a big race vehicle but I have a group of 16 year olds in their complete stock civics that I just want to blow out of the water and show that American cars are still powerful without putting a crap load of money into them.

you can do a header, and exhaust... maybe some bigger injectors but that would require a tune. there are alot of guys with N/A eco's!
with ripping up the engine or boost, intake, header, exhasut easiest, cheapest decent gains.

intake, header, exhaust, motor and tranny mounts will make it more fun to drive, and you can actually find a cobalt ss supercharged at a junk yard or something, and supercharge it for pretty cheap.

I just got a 2004 cavalier with auto and this is what i got and i pulled all the guys at work from the hole lots of honda's and a 2008 chevy reg. cab with the 4.3L and k&n cold air so here is what u need i got
a B&M shift plus ok $45 easy to install just ask some people on here there is pic too then RK sport upper and low motor mount $190 then MRZ under drive pulley with light weight alternator pulley $260 cut out the cat and put in
a high flow i got magna flow $75 plus $30 to weld in then a K&N filter just the oem one ok $55 now for free mod take out the air box and take out that stupid resonator out of the bumper now the air box get a saw saw and cut a big hole in the
bottom like haft of the whole thing to where when u put it back in and put in the filter it still looks stock but gets just as much air as the cold air kit but free and it will sound cool too this way when u are beating those civic and they say pop your hood u still look stock and that they will not like!!!!!! so do that stuff and u will win and if i where u i would also replace the coil pack on top of the motor new spark plugs and a fresh fuel filter too basic thing to keep u winning.
OO also about the trans change the fluid and filter to put in dextron 6 trans fluid u will feel the shifting for sure

I beat most riced out honda's in the area with just a big cone filter and a fart cannon from Ractive. Now it should be mass butt-rape with my blower which should be finished tomorrow lol
