so i ask custom or a cat back what is better and the car is n/a ohv 2.2?
pacesetter ceramic coated header ->
catco cat -> longest resonator you can fit -> 2.25 piping back to muffler of your choice. would recommend the dynomax superturbo, as it outflows most other mufflers (flowmaster/magnaflow) and sounds like stock (almost) at idle, but once you get on it, it wakes up nicely, as well as will not rasp -> whatever tip you'd like.

thx im fixing up a 97 sunfire
Does anyone here use the full Pacesetter system, headers on back to muffler? I have seen a lot talk about Pacesetter headers but nothing about rest of it. Thanks.

Won't you be missing something? I thought I read before that you have to make a custom part somewhere to complete it.

thats where the 2.25 piping comes in.either have it custom bent or buy a few mandrel beds from jegs/summit.

header, no cat, rear o2 mod, 2 1/4" pipe, shortest resonator possible, tip of your choice. Oh Yeah, LOUD AS HELL
I was thinink of using
this from OEM for my cat-back.

Pacesetter catback= trash. Rusts out and sounds horrible. Also, straight thru mufflers FTW! Cant see how a chambered muffler can out flow a straight thru. I use an ebay N1 muffler and it sounds great...but im also turbo'd.
"You can only feed them semen for so long before their legs fall off."
Well I have a 2.5" turbo back, with a QTP electronic cut out, a DNA street series muffler, a Borla XR-1, and 2 Vibrant 12" resonators.
I like the way it sounds
My pacesetter catback didnt sound that bad, but i didnt have a header or anything. Fitment wasnt great and it's mild steel so it'll rot away.
I'd sit down and think about what you want out of the car and have a shop bend you up an exhaust with components of your choice. If you just want a N/A DD then i'd do 2.25" or 2.5" with a nice big resonator, high flow cat, header, and probably a chambered muffler(all in 304 stainless steel so you wont have to redue it).
if you like it louder than most, it sounds great.
