Okay, so I found a 97 Sunfire in good shape, bad motor.
I have an '01 Cav, bad body, good motor (38K) thanks to my daughter, who decided to try putting makeup on while driving.
What kind of rewiring nightmare am I looking at between models?

the head is different, as you have probably noticed.

as for wiring, the whole car needs to be rewired to cross the 2000 line. make sure you get all the accessories out of the 01, all the harnesses, the pcm, the bcm, the gauge cluster (miles are stored in the BCM on the 00 +, miles are stored in the cluster pre 99... 99 is just a weird transisition year)... i'm not sure about the hvac and the radio...

Radio needs to go over since the 01 uses a serial bus for the radio.
